I got this for my daughter who is 5. She LOVES it. It could be more clear, but I really think that is actually more dependent on the light coming in. So it's much better when we are outside on a sunny day vs her bringing something inside to show me.It has been dropped so far and held up okay, but I don't know that it would do well with being dropped repeatedly. It doesn't feel delicate, but I feel like some caution is necessary.All in all, a great "toy" for a kid who likes bugs/hiking/outdoors, etc.

We love this, as it easily fits into our nature backpack and is a great addition for any young explorers tool bag. Easy to use and has been great fun for my little ones. It is plastic but still very durable, would take some real rough housing to break but it is possible. I think the price is right for the quality.

We combined this with a bug book and our 3 year old loved it.

My son loves using this. He hasn’t put any real insects in it yet but he has examined other objects with it.
