Perfect waterproof connectors
First time trying these type of connectors. Needed something waterproof for wiring boat trailer lights. Very impressed with them. Did a test on a loop of wire. Slide connector on, Twist wire ends together, and use a high temp heat gun. Shrink tubing tightens up on wire, sealing bands on ends of connectors melt to make a tight seal, then you see the solder ring melt and connect wires. I let it cool down and pulled wire for a strength test. The wire broke, but not at the connection. Be sure to use a high temp heat gun and make sure you see the solder ring melt.

Pen style heat gun 2 speed fan with a metal reflecting tip helps work wonders! 450watt I think
Product is worth your money and works surprisingly well!! One key point to remember is USE FLUX and don't rush the process, it needs to heat to be able to work. I use a pen style heat gun that has a metal heat reflecting attachment for the end as opposed to a traditional gun style and it works very well also don't just heat spot rotate the heat around the connector once you achieve necessary temperature you can watch the solder flow and you will know that it has done its job!

Reasonable quality and cost-effective, fast solution
I use these because I need to make 1000s of connections and it is a huge time savings over separate solder/shrink or crimp/shrink steps. They are not as good as the original RayChem, but they do the job well enough. It seems that I really have to cook them to get a solid connection, and this produces some fumes and a little scorched insulation.
