Elica 90cm 1350 m3/hr Filterless Autoclean Angular Kitchen Chimney with 15 Years Warranty (EFL 207 HAC LTW VMS 90, Touch + Motion Sensor Control)

Firstly, the Installation Experience and Costs:On his first visit, the installation technician wanted us to get the hole made in the wall for chimney pipe and gave us some instruction. We did that by hiring a mason/raaj-mistri, and then called the installation guy after that. Rs 850 for one length of Aluminium pipe (9-10 feet). Rs 490 as installation charges as on 5th-6th December, 2024. Total charges: Rs 1340 (excluding wall hole charges). Wall hole making charges (paid to the mason) were obviously extra (actually, Rs 1,000, which also account for an extra PVC pipe of 15 inches length which needs to be inserted and fixed into the wall hole for holding the Aluminium pipe (as instructed by the installation technician)). For overall installation, including wall hole charges, it cost Rs 1340 + Rs 1000 = Rs 2,340 to us. Installation technician was polite and well-behaving.Now, the Experience:It is better not to buy Angular/Slanted Chimney if the person who will use it has short height. The height from the kitchen slab/countertop to the lowest part of the chimney is usually 24-25 inches for angular/slanted chimney. It is 26-32 inches for flat chimney. In angular/slant chimney, the hand gesture control panel's height is about 37-38 inches from the kitchen counter-top. In flat chimney, it is again around 27-32 inches. So, if the user's height is less than, say, around 5 feet or less, then, he/she may feel some difficulty in using the hand gesture control. Touch panel can still be used to operate it though.Another thing with Angular/Slanted Chimney is that it is good for 2 burners and 4 burners stove only. Even for 4 burners stove, the front burners should not be too far from its hood, else it may not suck up all smoke, so the width of the 4-burners stove should not be too big. And if someone has to use it with 4 burner stove or 3 burner stove, and still want angular/slanted model, then, better buy 90 cm size.Size: The gas stove size is important. Ideally, whole length of gas stove/hob should be covered by the length of the chimney. That is, the gas stove should be equal to or less in length than the length of the chimney. This is true for both angular/slanted and flat chimneys.Looks: It looks good. A person with more height can bend his/her neck and look onto the cookware on stove which has angular/slanted chimney installed above it. Flat chimney would come in way for this.Working: It has been about 12 days since we have installed it and have been using it. And it has been working well so far.Noise: Yes, there is noise. It is high at highest level speed. But, you can hear another person talk if both of you are in the kitchen and the chimney is running at high speed. You may not hear another person talk if he/she is in adjacent room and you are in the kitchen; then both of you have to speak out loud.This model has normal motor. Its motor is not BLDC motor. I cannot comment on how loud BLDC motor chimney is since I have not used such model, but when I read the reviews on amazon, the buyers were not very happy about the noise of BLDC models. Good thing about Elica brand is that it is giving 15 years warranty on its chimney''s motor like this angular/slanted chimney. BLDC motor chimney models are pricey.

Amazon delivered the product on-time and I received the installation call from Elica very next day. The Elica chimney was looking great and smoothly installed by the technician Bala with proper care. I already owned a flat Elica chimney and this is my second purchase of angular chimney for my new home. It's been couple of weeks, it's working fine and no issues so far. Thanks Elica and Amazon
