Great incubator
It was our first time using and incubator for hatching chicks and I’m glad we decided to go with this product. It was very easy to set up,kept consistent temperature and humidity for the entire time ( even though we placed it in a cooler area ).The egg turning function worked with no issue as well.We hatched 16 chicks out of the 19 eggs we placed ( 3 eggs weren’t fertilised)

Simple to set
I know it’s a clear dome for a reason but do wish it came with an insulation cover as well. Running it now for the first time so we will see how successful it will be.

Test run before you put any eggs in the incubator
I have recently set the machine up for a test run for a couple of days before hatching anything and I am so pleased I did. This incubator comes with a pump which you manually have to prime it yourself which it tells you how to do so in the instructions. However, the instructions are really unclear that I luckily found videos on YouTube of people setting up their Brinsea Maxi 24 EX incubator which showed me that you have to wrap the pipe around the capsan (the turning thinghy in the pump). Next problem I ran into was the pump wasn't strong enough to suck the water out of the bottle I had as the water container. Again, YouTube came to the rescue and I had to place the bottle on something slightly higher then the incubator and let gravity do the work. Once them problems were addressed, it was really easy to configure the settings I wanted and the machine is doing all the rest on its own. I check it now and again to make sure that the bottle hasn't ran out but that is it really. I also really like the fact that if you register your incubator with Brinsea, you get a three year warranty and if anything goes wrong, you can either back to the factory for them to fix it or if you are a "do-it-yourself" person, you can order the parts for the incubator off the Brinsea website. Overall, the incubator is a very easy, no stress machine that does everything itself so you can just sit back and relax. I would recommend going on YouTube when setting up this type of incubator as some of the instructions were very unclear in places.

So impressed
Was really surprised to see a 1* review for a Brinsea incubator – I have several Brinseas and they always produce great results. This Maxi II EX is basicaly a plug and play machine, top spec, simple to set up, temperature and humidity were spot on, excellent hatch rate. can’t ask for much more!

Always happy with Brinsea products and service
I’m very pleased with this incubator. It holds all the eggs I need and can handle different egg sizes if I expand my flock. I’ve had Brinsea’s before and this is my first with automatic humidity control which works really well. Nicely made and guaranteed for 3 years.

Really impressed
The main readon I chose this model, besides the Brinsea reputation, was that they designed it to emulate the mother hen experience. The layout of the eggs during incubation is closer to the nest layout.I hadn't hatched eggs for years and wasn't confident about correct temperatures or humidity, so this seemed like a good idea.First hatch, 19 out of 21 viable eggs hatched. I consider that a great result. From simply watching the digital display I learned so much about where the humidity ought to be at each stage. The all round visibility meant I could easily monitor the progress of hatching eggs without interfering. My only niggle, and it is just a niggle, is that it complained - it has an alarm - about the ambient room temperature quite often in the first 2 weeks. As I was walking round in a T shirt and it was maintaining it's temperature perfectly, I ignored it in the end. Maybe it's a bit of a prima Donna, but it works really well and I have no qualms about recommending it.Update 2025 : that first hatch wasn't a fluke, it gives consistently reliable hatches. So very glad I chose this model.
