Cord too short
macerator works great but the cord is to short to reach my rear kitchen dump valve at end of trailer. My batteries are at the front of the trailer. Do I replace the whole power cord or just buy a cigarette light plug extension? Anyone know what size gauge wire this 12v power cord is?Value for money:Works great for the money. Compact and easy to store.

**Game-Changer for RV Life – Wish I Found This Sooner!**
--- 5 star for making my RVing easier.I’m honestly baffled that I didn’t know this pump existed until now. If I had, I would’ve bought it *years* ago. I was gearing up to hook up my 5th wheel and make a trip to the gas station to dump my tanks, but time just wasn’t on my side.Usually, I rely on a portable sewer tank to empty the trailer, which—as many RV owners know—is a real hassle. This little machine changed everything. It’s quiet, compact, and works smoothly at any angle. I was specifically looking for something that could run on both AC and DC, since my trailer is parked near a standard outlet but doesn’t have a 12v plug near the sewer line. I had to use my side-by-side for power this time around. My next step is to get a longer cable to reach the 12v plug on the other side of the trailer. But even now, I can confidently say: this thing is a life changer. Don’t wait like I did—grab one!---

Overall a good pump.
I have used this every 4-6 days since I got it. It works well. However I did just have to fix the toggle switch. I will be replacing that soon with a better one. Otherwise it pushes through a 100' garden hose pretty good and yes it grinds angel soft to. Thats what I use. As always, lots of water is key. 4 stars. If it had a better switch it would be 5.

Good luck. You’re going to need it
Long semi rant here. First let just say that when these pumps work they are freaking awesome. Having said that:1) the very first pump I bought about a year ago was dead. Returned it and got a replacement.2) the replacement lasted just shy of one year then seized up. The pump was never run dry and was never left alone.3) ordered a replacement pump because I thought, hopefully, it would be better4) received the pump but they sent the wrong one. Problem because:a) to return the pump I have to drive to an authentic UPS store. That’s approximately 60 miles. One Way.b) I needed to dump the tank for visitors for the weekend5) got another replacement pump and this one has a bad off/on switch. Luckily I had kept the old power cord.6) the power cord is ridiculously short so be prepared to add wiring to reach a battery.7) the company graciously put an inline cigarette lighter connection that is absolutely useless. Cut that thing out andbypass it.8) the new power cord does not have an inline fuse. I took the old power cord and spliced in a fuse to kick off before unit overheats. There are probably many more things I could say about this unit, however, my good manners prevent me from uttering them. BTW I’m a 72 year old woman with a background in technical maintenance and quality assurance. God help the woman or man that tries to deal with this mess.

Works as advertised! (mostly)
For the price it has been an excellent buy. It emptied my gray water tank in about the time expected. It does seem to run a little warm but then it is working pretty hard to move a lot of water. The macerator portion works, but do not use any hose that has any obstructions or kinks as the toilet paper fibers tend to hang up on them. Oh, and be sure to get a short 3-5' heavy duty sewer hose for the suction end as, in my opinion, it is too heavy to hang off the end of the RV discharge pipe. Also a clear piece of pipe for that suction side does help with monitoring progress.
