Exactly what I was looking for.
I just wanted to find an inexpensive, hard plastic vented brush with hard plastic spikes that looks exactly like this one. It was exactly what I was looking for, and the price was right. Why hard plastic? Other brushes are made of a softer, almost rubbery plastic. After a year or so, that softer material gets sticky. I don't know why, but that's why I prefer the hard plastic. This brush works great when your hair is dry or when your hair is wet. Detangles instantly.

Works!
I have short to medium length hair. This brush is great for giving a little lift when blow drying wet hair.

Warning, very stiff bristles
Bought this because I thought to myself, "It's a $5 hair brush, how bad could it be?". Well, bad enough for me to return it. The issue isn't with the construction of the brush itself (it's fine, although cheap feeling... but come on, it's $5), but the materials used. The bristles are *very* stiff and it was actually painful when the bristles didn't flex against my scalp; otoh, my wife said it was fine for her.3-stars because you can't give half stars on Amazon, otherwise it'd be a 2.5. Probably fine for some people and not usable for others (like myself).

Does not work as good as it looks.
Very stiff bristles which makes it uncomfortable to use. It also fails to grab the hair to have any effect. I bought this to replace an identical looking brush that I have used for nearly forty eight years which has a number of broken bristles. I'll be keeping the old one while this is being returned.

Like this to put a slight curl in my hair.
This is close to what I grew up with. But the ends are a bit straighter not a round dot like. Does what I wanted.

old school vent brush
I have been barbering since 1977, and this vent brush seems just like the ones we had way back then. Somehow it seems slightly smaller than what I had back then, but that was so many years ago, I could easily be wrong. Anyway, I am very happy with this brush, and it is the type like we had back then where it leaves your layered hair with that "feathered" look with the feathered lines through it on the sides. Remember? It is really great with a blow dryer, and I would highly recommend! The price is good too.

Much better options out there
Very stiff, hard plastic brush. The balls on the ends are too small to protect scalp and is not a pleasant experience to use. The stiffness causes each "bristle" to permanently deform during normal styling - my brush is unusable after just one use. A much better option is the Cricket Static Free Fast Flo Vent Hair Brush which has larger balls on the end of each bristle to protect scalp with just the right amount of flexibility yet firmness for styling.
