Tamiya German Destroyer Jagdtiger

I recently bought and constructed this classic piece of German armor. It's new tooling and the details are sharp and crisp, right down to the molded on tool clamps. The good folks at Tamiya have even done a fine job of replicating the pitted appearance of the cold rolled steel on the upper casemate, which takes washes and filters beautifully. The kit includes both link and length styrene tracks as well as the usual one piece vinyl tracks. The detail on the one piece was so good that I opted to use them. I did the example owned formerly by the Aberdeen proving ground and now housed at fort Benning. Don't copy the Aberdeen paint scheme....almost all of their collection was repainted by them after acquisition and usually not very correctly. I waited to buy this kit for a while. It had been listing for around $135 but came down to $40, so shop wisely. Highly, HIGHLY reccomended.

A very detailed model kit. Really enjoyed making this model. Very detailed and easy to put together. Looks great and has great instructions. Great visual aids cool photo etched screens. A pleasure to build.

God do I love this Tank! Tamiya imo is the best out there for begginer friendly yet highly detailed models. Its well detailed while not being overly burdensome. A tip if you want is get a pair of close nippers from harbour freight for 3.50 and save you the hassle of dealing with unrully sprues. This is by far the best model ive done to date and with the help of a micro airbrush I think it came out awesome. You will never go wrong buying Tamiya nor from Japan. So mich cheaper.

It was a great model to put together and it was a great project for my WWII class, I just wish that the decals had instructions on how to put them on because I have never put them on before but other wise a great project.

Highly accurate

As usual, Tamiya sets a high standard with their latest version of the Jagdtiger. Excellent surface detail, choice of individual link tracks or single piece, high detailed polyethylene tracks. A vast improvement over previous versions of the largest, heaviest AFV to see combat in WWII.

Went well to build and fit really nice. Would recommend to anyone with modest model building skills.

Well made kit. The mechanical writing isn't great but the worst part was the missing poly cap sprues. Trying to get a hold of Tamiya USA makes the DMV look like spa servjce.
