Rear View Mirror Back Plate Panel + Mirror Dash Cam Mount Arm for Car DVR Instead of Strap

I have a 2013 VW TDI Sportwagen, diesels cause a lot of vibrations, and my old mirror couldn’t handle the added weight of my new rear view camera/dash cam. My old mirror would not stay where I needed it and it shook like crazy, almost making it useless. This is great! I was reading through the reviews and a few said to contact the company if you need an adapter, which being a German car, I needed one. They sent me the right kind of attachment for my window, and my dash cam mirror fits pretty nicely, I don’t have to have the mirror on the back of it sticking out anymore, and the mirror doesn’t shake. This product is highly Recommended.

I bought a big screen dash cam, 12". My thought was that the weight of the cam plus the mirror may cause the mounting to fail. To avoid the potential of that happening, I installed this. Just remove the current mirror and adjust the width to the camera and off ya go! It's all metal, no plastic! That's a great aspect of this. It mounts directly over the cars existing mount with no problem! It expands to fit the size of your cams screen using the rubber straps, so nothing to screw in. Very sturdy. The paint looks great! It will save me the hassle of having to possibly re-epoxy the mount. The camera is steady, and it does not shake or slip, it stays right where I put it. Nice option to mounting over the existing mirror.

The item is fantastic, and helps reduce weight issue of a standard mirror, allowing my dashcam to sit comfortably. The issue is the mounting piece. Finding a bracket that fits this was near impossible, as it is too large for standard brackets, and the photos included in the listing are not very helpful. I was able to find one from suggested purchases that *mostly* fit after some dremeling and sanding.Convenient item if you have the bracket, but a decent amount of work if you don't.

I had the rearview mirror fall off twice on my hearse. The combined weight of it plus the backup camera screen was too much. This was the best solution. While I could have reused my existing mirror mount, I opted to use the included one. You'll need to supply your own glue as none is included. There were no instructions included, but assembly was pretty easy to figure out by looking at pictures in the listing. I haven't had any issues since using this, even when it got really hot and the windshield was facing the sun.

This product I would definitely recommend! When I had my 12 in dash cam strap to my rearview mirror. My voice response would not work. I think due to vibration. Now that I installed this dash cam back panel. My voice response now works. That is how sturdy it is!!!!! By the way this fits the original pin that held the original mirror on my 2001 Dodge 1500.

Seemed like a good idea, but didn't like the "double vision" I seemed to get because of the Mirrored surface. I would see the "Screen" and the Actual Mirrored image at the same time. Maybe it's something you get used to, but I went with a model that attaches to the windshield and am happier.

I wanted this to ditch the ridiculous strap over the mirror mounts that mirror cameras have. This is made of strong material that's modular for custom setup. Just make sure you already have the mirror mount the fits or order a new one for this to mount to.
