It is the best for me
I've used this camera since it arrived. It is the best for me, and there is a long learning curve in order to understand and efficiently use all of it many features. It answers all my in-camera image-making questions.

FZ-300 Great camera but no manual lense ring
I bought this baby some years ago for its telephoto length (26/600). I do a lot of nature photos and flowers. While I have been very happy with this camera over the years, I have not really jumped in to the deep end with all the menues and options. Found my sweet spot and stick with it.My only complaint is the laxk of a manual focus ring on the lense. You have to use a small roll wheel on the left side by the W/T bar. I guess the idea was that you would be able to focus while holding the camera at the same time. I did like that you got a blue rim around the subject/s when they were in focus. I just prefer the more control of the lense ring. The iA autofocus works quite well. I tend to want to focus beyond what it wants to focus on, thus the manual focus desire.I have noticed that the w/t toggle seitch on the top right of the camera is slowing down or not responding, so I am starting to look at a replacement.Looking at reviews of various Lumix cameras in the fz family, I was surprised how many mentioned the fz200 but no mention of the fz300.I am currently leaning towards the fz 1000. We shall see.I gave up on the Lumix ap for downloading to my phone a long time ago, so I have no idea if that has improved or not.All in all, a very nice camera with a good zoom.
