Fantastic find
This is a little genius of a product! If you live somewhere where you have to keep your butter in the fridge year-round and it is impossible to spread straight from the fridge because it is so cold and solid, this brilliant knife is the answer! You just scrape it across the top of the butter and using one side you have a serrated edge that produces thinner shreds of butter than would be possible with an ordinary knife and using the other side, which has tiny little holes along the edge, it produces thin little curls of butter that are easy to spread because they are so thin. It is such a simple idea, but so effective! For a small knife, the handle is very solid, which makes it easy to hold and use. I had to contact the vendor before buying it to be sure that it would reach me before I left the UK and they responded very quickly, were very efficient and it reached me in good time.

Great butter knife
I was sceptical about this, it I needn't have been. It's a brilliant butter knife. No more spreading hard butter onto a plate in order to make it soft.

Not fit for purpose
We have some old bone handled knives that we’ve been using as butter knives for the last 30 years or so. Unfortunately, the handles have deteriorated, so I thought replacements would be a good idea. I saw this product and thought that as the majority of reviews were positive they must be pretty good, so I bought 2 of them. We tend to use ‘spread’ rather than butter, only because it’s softer and therefore easier to spread. Because it comes in tubs, the knife would be used at at an angle of at least 45° and in this respect picking butter up is really quite difficult. The majority of the butter (spread) goes through the large hole and just leaves a worm in the tub. Using the knife at a shallower angle is difficult because the side of the tub gets in the way, but if you are successful, then the knife is slightly more effective, but even so a lot of the butter just goes through the little holes . When you can actually get better on the knife and try and spread it on the bread, a lot of it goes through the holes, leaving unspread wormcasts of butter on the bread. I feel that I have really wasted my money with these knives and they are not what I was looking for. In my opinion, butter knives should be like the old-fashioned ones, where you have a large spreading area that has a shallow grid engraved on the face of the blade to grip the butter. My mum has always had one of these and I think it’s the best butter knife in the world. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any of these types of product on the market. So, to conclude, I feel that this product is really quite ineffective as a butter, knife and therefore I can only award it one star.

Oner-engineered waste of money
If like I was, u are interested to see if this interesting design is a clever idea, don't bother, it's not!!!A classic case of trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist! As a butter knife, this is useless ~ the over designed holes only work if the butter is already soft & because it is costructed of quite thick metal, the edge is too thick to cut into the butter!A good butter knife needs a rounded end & thin, but not sharp edge, with a flat surface to spread the butter evenly ~ this is very badly over-designed & will go straight in the bin!!!
