Rug No Longer Bunching Up!
I finally found a fix for my rug bunching up on carpet. I have a carpet pad under the rug. I first put several strips of tape on the carpet pad where the coffee table sits. I rolled the rug on top of the pad to get it lined up. I then carefully rolled the rug up and removed the tape backing. After rolling the carpet back in place I walked on it to make sure the tape was sticking to rug. I then applied tape around all the edges of the rug. I removed the tape backing from the corners and then worked on peeling it off the edges. I walked on all the edges to make sure the rug stuck to the pad. So far it has been two weeks since I put the double-sided tape on the rug and there is no sign of the rug bunching up. I included a before picture and an after picture. The tape was easy to work with. I bought this type of tape because it said it will not harm the carpet.

Sticks!
Sticks to the floor carpet but not to the area rug as well. The cheap area rug I got still wrinkles up and comes off the tape. Almost have to tape the whole rug. It's ok, but definitely a short term solution for me. I can see that it would to good on tile or vinyl floors with smaller area rugs.

If you can't get it to stick to underside of rugs--READ THIS!!
I initially had a horrible time w/ this tape; it stuck to everything BUT the underside of the rugs. Stuck to our floors fine. The company contacted me and was super helpful about it. I told them I couldn't get it to stick to the specific underside of these new rugs (they're non skid TPR backing). They suggested I tried using heat, like a blowdryer, and letting it adhere for a while before taking the other side off and attaching to floor. Ultimately what I found worked PERFECTLY: Use an iron on low heat. Remove sticky backing and attach to underside of the rug. Lay a thin towel over it, and iron using a lot of firm pressure all along the tape, especially the edges. Test spots occasionally to see if you need to do more. Don't overdo it and burn the rug!! Then let it settle for a half hour at least, and then peel off the other side and attach the rug to the floor. Then rub w/ a towel very firmly along the tape line. Worked great!! Now all my rugs are in place and staying put. Wish they had put those suggestions in the packaging, but I'm pretty impressed w/ how responsive they were. They even replaced my tape. Hope this helps someone!

Did not work for rug on carpeted floor
I bought this tape because it was advertised to work with rugs on carpet. I recently bought a cheap and thin carpet rug/mat that I put on my carpeted floor. I used a lot of the tape, and the rug still moves around everywhere. The tape has been useless for keeping the rug in place on the carpet. I can't speak for rug on hard floor.

Don’t purchase if you plan to use for carpet on carpet!
We purchased this to keep an area rug secure on top of carpet, as it stated it could be used for carpet on carpet.. It only lasted 2 days before the area rug began slipping and bunching up again. Then the tape rolled up and only stuck to the carpet and not the area rug. A complete waste of money! Very disappointed!

Easy and it WORKS.
June 10, 2022 Update: Tape is still holding after more than 5 years and this is with a walker going over it a dozen or more times each day! Should I be embarrassed that I have not tried to pull it up and deep clean under it? Because I am not there yet... Stand by... May 4, 2021 still holding throughout the COVID quarantining-- with a 2.5-year-old dog, too! July 26, 2020. Still holding in place. April 6, 2019 Update. Still holds as it did the first day. Jan 14, 2018: 8 months into the tape application and it is holding fast in the highest-use area of the house. Sept 13, 2017 update: Three and a half months and it is holding firm. This tape is so great, I am looking for other loose carpets or other uses.Original review: The sliding carpet problem is over. After YEARS of this bit of a carpet sliding all over, it now stays in place. (Note the frayed edges where the carpets meet. I wonder if there would have been no fraying there, if this carpet tape had been used 40 years ago?) I cut two inches off and affixed to each corner and placed the fringe and edge of the little carpet under the established carpet, and pressed the tape into the wooden floor with my foot. Done. Easy. Still working perfectly after 2 weeks. My kitchen scissors were sharp enough for cutting through the tape. (My scissors edges were worn/dulled, so I had to sharpen my scissors by cutting several strips of some folded-over aluminum foil.) All is well. I'll report back after some months to confirm how well it is still working.
