The Glass slipper for BFS Zephyr reel
I've been searching for the perfect matchup to the Kastking Zephyr BFS reel that I purchased on Amazon a couple weeks ago.I think this is the 4th or 5th Sougayilang rod that I have purchased off of Amazon.None of them have been the proverbial *glass slipper* until I cast a 2.9 g test weight earlier this evening on 4 lb Berkley trilene XL somewhere between 90 and 100 ft! that's 30 plus yards with a 1/10th of an ounce weight! This rod is officially designated as 'Ultralight' from 1/8 oz up to 3/4 of an ounce by Sougayilang. This rod has a flex profile that seems to do well with lighter than the advertised weight printed on the rod. This model has a more overall flexing property instead of just flexing at the tip.(which in my personal opinion makes a rod unruly unpredictable and inaccurate when casting light bait/lures)The long casting distance may have something to do with the reel guides looking and feeling like obsidian glass, they are ceramic inserts and they seem to do well with the 4 lb monofilament that I was casting with. After getting used to the way the rod loads up and managed further and further casts I then basically shot the whole spool (because the Zephyr reel likes as little line as possible on the spool) I think I had about 110 ft on the spool and I ran it down to the tape!I am very pleased with the way this rod behaves with that particular reel.Almost all the other rods made casting with the Kastking Zephyr BFS reel a real challenge and quite honestly-a pain in the butt... with countless bird nests, some of them so severe I had to burn 10 to 20 yards of line off the reel.(was even worse with the 6 lb mono Trilene XL) the extra weight of heavier line created too much inertia which overpowered the braking system on that reel.I'm fairly new to baitcasting, I have a solid year under my belt casting with the Abu Garcia Black Max which is what I use to throw heavy baits with, the B.Max rod is too stiff for BFS, so I had to invest in a new reel, and a rod that would help the reel cast to its full potential casting ultralight baits like the trout magnet, which weighs a whopping 1.7 g with the jig head attached to the plastic bait...I am Looking forward to putting in a full weekend with this setup on a river/creek north of the town I live in, where there are multi-species to be had this time of year, from trout to Bass it's all in there, and I hope to pull a few out take some pictures and then let them go.The rod that I'm writing about is the PAE602UL model 6 ft ultra light CASTING rod with full cork handle, ceramic line guides, low profile reel seat and bait holder. She is a beautiful piece of work, a Cinderella in the making, well done Sougayilang!

Broke on first hookup....
I had high hopes for this light weight rod. I fish the Eastern Sierra (CA,USA) frequently and have been for decades.Went after brown trout exclusively this last trip before the Season closed.I hooked a substantial Brown trout on the second cast! But, that's where the fun ended. I set the hook and began landing the fish. It put up a great fight, dove and then it happened. The rod bent as the fish pursued cover and it SNAPPED. I couldn't believe it.That fish took off trailing line but fortunately the upper half of the rod slipped off the line, lessening the hazard this fish now has to contend with. We retrieved my broken rod and here it sits, unable to use. This has to be a materials issue... A quality rod shouldn't break under the pressure of a wily game fish the rod was intended to target. I'm considering sending the reel I purchased for it back, as well. I don't need a reel without a proper rod.

good but not perfect for the zepher if you looking for a budget option.
this rod is worth the value if you need something to throw a bfs on. It works well and i've caught big fish on this rod (slot stripers) and its held up. I think this is a great rod for a stop gap for a more expensive bfs rod..my only complaint is the kastking zephyer dosent quite perfectly fit into the seat so their is a little bit of movement, its hardly noticeable but its not perfect.worthy rod.

Not Quite Total Crap
I bought this to use for light fishing for bream but it broke the first time I took it out. Couldn't use it at all.Update, the company reached out to me and offered a complete refund or another rod, but I have already replaced it with something different. The customer service was very easy to work with. I would consider buying another rod from them because of this.

Not the rod advertised
Rod did not last. It broke 8" above handle while I was trying to boat a fish. Top section slide into lake while hook still in fish. Fish eventually got off and the broken top section was lost to the lake bottom.
