Bought as a gift
Bought as a gift for my Mom and she liked it. She said the candy was good and nothing appeared off, smashed or otherwise presentable! And she particularly liked the necco's as she likes licorice. I bought it for Mom's day!! After my Dad had passed she needed something sweet!!

Fun classics, not the original formulations
These are the same fun classic candies you would expect. All in all, there were 17 pieces of candy. A handful of these might normally cost 50 cents apiece, while many are 10 cent suckers or single tiny-sized issues like a Tootsie Roll the length of a penny, and a single Bit O Honey. I would estimate that there is $5 to $6 worth of candy. You're paying for the effort of gathering these all together. The box isn't rigid or firm at all - it's flimsy and disposable, not a collectable item. These are not classic formulations. Almost all are corn syrup-based, and so they would taste different for anyone who actually means to revisit a childhood 60 years ago (well before my time!).Of note, there is a use-by date on the box, but it's three months past the date of some of the candy inside. Mine was within the allowable dates of the marked candies, but if you get a box that's within a few months of the expiration date, some of the candy may already have expired.Perhaps this would make a fun birthday item for someone in their 60s, but I couldn't see making a habit of purchasing it.

Not worth the price. Box is smaller then portrayed, and got a bunch of the same candy
The box is a lot smaller than portrayed, that was my fault for not looking into it further. What was upsetting is, there wasn't much of a variety. We got about 10-12 candies in the box, but it consisted of 3 dum dum lollipops, (all mystery flavor, all the same flavor) 2 candy necklaces, 3 small Mary Jane's, and 3 small bit o' honey's. For how much i paid i guess I expected a little more of a variety, and not just a few smaller candies. A whole bag of each of those candies, cost less at a dollar store combined!

1950s Candy
Very cute packaging and you can't go wrong with earlier candy products. :)

Nostalgic.
This was bought as a gift for my wife. It is nice nostalgia and there are many interesting candies that were around in the 1950s.But don't expect a lot of content. There is one of each item and some are very small and not how you might remember them. For instance, you get 1 root beer barrel - not a box of them. You get 1 small Tootsie Roll from a snack bag like you might buy for Halloween - not the tootsie roll bar of long ago. You get a miniature, snack bag size of Necco wafers - not the normal size you can still buy in some stores. Some other candies - such as the Chuckles - are full size. The photo shows actual contents so you can see I'm not exaggerating. Still it's an interesting assortment and probably worth the price.

Great retro gift for anyone!
I ordered this for my father for Father's Day. He was born in 1935 but I ordered the 1950's box as I figured he would appreciate the candy from his teen years. He called me and told me when he opened up the box, he cried. There were so many candies that he forgotten about from his youth. I highly recommend this as a great sentimental gift for anyone on your list.
