Nice clone of the Hario Skerton+ (plus) model
The design of this grinder includes the "stabilization plate" that makes the Hario Skerton + and pro models more expensive than the base Skerton model. Not only is that plate still lacking in the base Skerton model, it wasn't a part of the Skerton line for many years. One had to buy them from a 3rd party. In the Hario grinders, this plate allows for more consistent grounds at finer settings for espresso and Turkish coffee.Though this generic grinder includes the stabilization plate, it lacks the close tolerances of the Hario grinders. As a result the consistency of the grounds at any setting are not very consistent. As such this isn't something you'd want to use for either Turkish coffee or Barista-quality espresso. But if you use paper filters (cone, drip, or Aeropress), this is an excellent entry-level grinder. If you buy this item carefully inspect the glass jars for cracks or chips after each use- especially around the mouth of the jars. One of the jars that I received chipped at the top of the mouth after the first use. So I returned it and bought a Hario which, among other things, is knows for very high quality glassware.
