The magnets are fine . The only issue is the hook piece screws into the magnet but doesn't tighten up. It freely rotates within the base. This can make removing and placing items awkward as the hook rotates. (A spot of metal epoxy would probably fix this.) It's an annoyance factor but doesn't stop them from doing their job.They are also not designed to be decorative or attractive. They have an industrial look.Otherwise strong enough to hold items up to maybe 1/2 pounds on the side of my refrigerator without slipping. One pound and the hook slips slowly in some locations, barely holds if you place the weight on carefully in others. Maximum strength ratings are for hooks hanging straight down when magnet is placed under a thick horizontal iron plate, so the strength on the vertical sheet metal of an appliance is much less. The actual strength probably depends on many factors including coatings of the sheet metal like paint or texture.But for lighter items of say about 8 ounces they hold amazingly well. It's very convenient to be able to move them freely to get maximum storage space.To remove a magnet tilt it away from the surface or the other magnet. It is quite difficult to separate two of them stuck face to face.

These hooks are a game changer for me. I can hang my keys right on the side of my fridge as soon as I walk in the door. I'm not setting them down wherever and losing them. They are a bit smaller than I imagined, but it doesn't change the functionality. And now every metal surface can potentially have a hook! No holes in the wall. No installation. So simple. I'm seriously thinking about buying some more sets and giving a couple to everyone I know. People should know about these.

I don't doubt the 25 lb pull away from the magnet and the steel surface (perpendicular?), but when attached to a vertical surface I can only hang something from the hook that is 5 lbs or less without it sliding down... which is to be expected. Some assembly is required, these are shipped in pieces, but seem to be solidly built. 4/5, would recommend to others.

Good, but somewhat limiting in what you can hang on them due to the curve of the hook. Doesn't work for my kitchen utensils because the hole in the handle won't fit over the hook curvature. Also, if you're hanging on a vertical surface, whatever you put on the hook will stick out. That's fine for something bulky like a set of keys or a kitchen towel, but a pot holder looks a bit silly sticking out an inch from the side of the refrigerator.

Read tons of reviews before settling in this product. I wanted something strong to put on our washer/dryer to store hats.This would be great for heavier items like a loaded key ring (with lots of keys), cooking utincles, empty reusable grocery bags-- I wouldn't not recommend something as heavy as a bag of bricks or something ridiculous.They work for the exact purpose I needed.

These are very well finished and powerful for their size. Having the interchangeable pegs makes them super versatile. They are an incredible value for the money. I bought a magnetic knife rack and use these to hang all my measuring spoons....each hook holds 2 or 3 of them.

I really needed something to hang all of my grilling tools on and these were perfect. Make sure you note that they lose some of their holding power if hung vertically like mine. Once I adjusted them a little, everything stayed right where I plopped the magnets.

I wanted to use these to stick to fridge to hold my numerous key rings. Didn't want a huge keyack. Just something simple. The price was adaquate. I only needed 3, but this item came with 5. The magnetic strength is very good. Keys didn't move the hooks and have been in the same spot for 12 hours. I didn't try testing the magnet strength against anything heavier. It suits my needs perfectly. Am satisfied, so I decided to write a review. I read through many reviews when I buy things on Amazon. Hope my review helps someone else.
