We purchased this to take along with us on family trips. There is never a decent place to put your toothbrush in a hotel. We typically leave them sit on a ziplock bag to dry a bit then throw in the bag. This just gives us that peace of mind that our toothbrush is germ free when we stick it in our mouth. So far this thing has performed perfectly. My wife and I really dislike having things plugged in around our bathroom sink. This little guy makes it fairly simple to pull it out of the drawer, slip your brush in and press the button. I usually throw my contacts in and about the time im done the unit has turned itself off and is ready to throw in the drawer. Im not sure if battery life yet but I have used it every morning since receiving it and have not yet needed to charge (I charged it when I first opened it). I think it's a great gadget to have. Takes up little to no space! We are very happy with our purchase!

I am very pro making sure my toothbrush is sanitized.Did you know that the brush we stick in our mouth twice a day can get pretty gross? The Mythbusters TV show discovered that our toothbrushes are probably infected with fecal bacteria, and experts recommend we change out our toothbrushes every 3 to 4 months (and immediately after recovering from sickness). In addition to changing out my toothbrush regularly, using this sanitizer helps put my mind at ease that my brush is clean every time I put it in my mouth.It works great, and it’s fun to show off to friends who have never seen one. I love how easy it is to transition from home use to travel with it. Plus, it holds a charge long enough for long trips and ensures my toothbrush is sanitized wherever I am. I just wish it worked better with flat handle brushes.1) PRO -- MANUAL DEEP UV-C SANITATION LEDBefore purchasing this product, I used its predecessor (the one with the round edges in the pics) for several months. Both have the deep ultraviolet C Wave LEDs. Both make your toothbrush feel clean because they are killing 99.99% of bacteria on the brush. The LED is superior to similar products which use bulbs because LEDs have no harmful mercury inside that could leak out onto your toothbrush. I like that this newer version has a manual button on the outside to activate the LED, as opposed to the predecessor's automatic on and off after closing. This allows me to sanitize when I put my toothbrush up and before using it again. Also, it allows me to still sanitize brushes that will not fully fit in it.2) PRO -- LONG BATTERY LIFEThis sanitizer is rechargeable via a USB cable which can be plugged into a laptop (provided in the box - though you may want to purchase an AC outlet for convenience). I have taken the predecessor on a three and a half week long business trip, and it worked the entire time on a single charge. This one uses a 240mAh battery and apparently will last up to 55 sterilizations on one charge. This means one less thing to worry about charging while traveling.3) PRO -- PORTABILITYThe shape of this one makes it easier to fit in my toiletry bag than its bulky predecessor. Though, I am concerned that if crammed in the bag, the outside manual button could get pushed and run out the battery. I will test it on my next trip and update.4) PRO -- COOL DEVICEA lot of my friends have never used one of these before and will ask, "What is that?!" It is a cool gadget that I like showing off.5) CON -- WON'T CLOSE IF YOU USE A FLAT-HANDLE TOOTHBRUSHAside from my sanitizer, the other way I keep my toothbrush clean is by using the BOIE USA Antimicrobial toothbrush, which unfortunately is odd-shaped with a flat handle (see the black toothbrush in the pics attached). Most toothbrush sanitizers will not work at all with it due to its odd shape. Luckily, this santizier's predecessor worked great with it, able to perfectly close. This one, however, will not close if I put the BOIE USA in it. I did not deduct a star though, because since this one does not automatically turn on when closed, I can still put the toothbrush in it, slightly ajar, and manually activate the sanitizer and it works. Hopefully, the next version will be designed to fit brushes like the BOIE USA.

I recently saw an article that said that the germs in your bathroom from, flushing, sneezing, fecal particles, etc. is much higher than people realize. I have been using a toothbrush cover to protect my toothbrush, or so I thought, and when I saw this product I decided to give it a try. The item arrived within 3 days of my ordering it which was a pleasant surprise since this is coming from overseas. So far I have been using it for about a week. I charged it when I first got it and have not had to charge it since then and my girlfriend and I have used it more than 30 times between the two of us. Although I cannot vouch for its effectiveness at eliminating germs, it is well known that certain spectrums of UV light does kill bacteria. I do not have a way of testing for this. I can say, however, since I have had prior experience with this company and have never been disappointed, I will take their word for the claims they make concerning the UV light. I have bought 2 other items, both portable charging units and they have worked better than expected. I have noticed that now when I brush at night, there seems to be less of a plaque build up than before I began using it and my girlfriend says the same thing. Perhaps because there is less bacteria in the toothbrush now, I suspect. The unit is portable and easy to use and I highly recommend it. MaxOak Direct also sells a contact lens UV sterilizer as well as a UV denture sterlizer. My girlfriend wears contacts and now she wants the contact sterilizer because she has had problems with the standard unsanitary contact lens cases in the past. When she gets it, I will also review this product in the future.

This product was great for about a month....but while on a trip it stopped charging....the red light continued flashing and then stayed red. I was unwilling to take it on the plane with this malfunction and battery concern. Amazon responded that I was one week past the return timeframe and could not get replacement. When pressing customer service they said I could return it only if I had the item....no budging when I explained unwillingness to take this on plane.

Nice packaging and easy to operate. Very compact size, which makes it very easy to pack on a trip or take with you when camping. One thing I didn't expect was that my toothbrush doesn't have the same odor that it used to. Also, my breath seems to be fresher since using this sanitizer.You insert your toothbrush into the sanitizer which has a mirror inside for reflecting more UV light onto the backside of the toothbrush. Very snug when holding when holding the tooth brush thanks to the removable rubber holder inside the plastic casing. This unit charges with a standard micro USB cable and lasts for quite some time without having to recharge. The USB port has a rubber flap that helps to protect against water splashes.Overall, very nice size and easy to use. Just insert your toothbrush, press the button, and the UV light starts to work with an indicator LED that lights up while its working.
