good quality.
they seem to have good quality plastic, I havn't installed them yet but i will post an update once they are installed... I now have them installed and they are great quality.the only thing I do not like is they are very smooth and slippery as the original shell is not. While installing I stripped the outside screws because I'm an idiot who was using the wrong screwdriver. That should not go against the seller as that was user error. 2 hours "lay-tair"("I had to😉") I got the right screw driver and lucky for me only the inside edge of the screws was stripped, so the new bigger screwdriver tightened them up good. Over all this was a easy process and if you are good at taking things apart you will be fine.

It's a DIY project with fix it yourself issues, if that's not your thing dont buy it.
I love the way it looks, it reminds me of my gameboy color. Putting the back on was by far the easiest part, I did have to file part of it by the bottom of the kick stand because a screw holding the big metal plate on the back wasn't letting the new case sit flush. The left joycon took like 10 minutes to switch out and works perfectly. The right joycon was not so easy.... it was a nightmare in fact. It took 3x as long to switch out initially because it has extra stuff inside, only to have the R button get stuck in after the first press. I took it apart to see what was wrong and found out part of the rail wasnt fitting inside the front part of the shell so when I screwed it shut it pinched everything together up top. So I used a carpet cutter to cut some extra plastic out of the groove ( it's the slot between the + and y for the rail to slide in). I cut alot out for the size of the groove only to get it to slide together barely if pushed hard. And now the R button works mostly unless I squeeze the controller to much and it gets pinched and stuck again.

Not As Hard As I Had Thought
These have a smooth finish which is noticeably different from the standard JoyCons. I was hesitant at first when getting these because of every YouTuber saying that the end product is awesome but the process was WAY too hard. I had just replaced the shell on my Pro Controller and loved the Atomic Purple color, and had the itch to mod my JoyCons too. I had never done any modifications before but because of my history of working on laptops I was comfortable with diving into this project. This shell came with the Super Famicom color buttons, which I personally am not a huge fan of so I kept the standard black buttons and its looks great. It took me probably about 1-1.5 hours to complete the mod, where I had heard it usually taking 3-4 hours. I cannot stress this enough though, HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS. Just having the tri-tip screw driver is not enough. I had a pair of fine tweezers for electronic use and would not have been able to do this mod without it.The biggest complaint that I have is that there is now more play (wiggle) with the ZL and ZR buttons but honestly I don't notice it when I am playing.I highly recommend these, the D-Pad is great and still works well when using the L JoyCon by its self. the shells look fantastic, the original black buttons work if you're like me and are not a fan of the Super Famicom buttons. Make sure that you have the proper tools!!! Lastly watch the instruction video all the way though then step-by-step as you do the mod yourself.

Awesome
I found this very easy to install but I did not use the center clear piece it came be becuase I read that it can cause it to not close properly, and also is saves time!I have never taken apart any gaming equipment before and I had no problem with this.I did order a nitendo switch tool kit though so I did have all the right tools.Very much worth the time and money and was fun to put together.Time it took to put together was around 45mins-hour 30. But if I were to get another kit it probably would take half that now that I know what I am doing. Just make sure you watch the videos on YouTube when installing!*********Add on **************I have had these for over about two months now and one of the joycons was not sitting flush on the rail like a lot of the comments say but if you look up on YouTube how to fix that all you have to do is use a box cutter to cut a piece of plastic off and it will sit perfect. I suggest you watch the installation video and the video on how to make make the joy con fit properly or else you will take it apart and put together multiple times like I did instead of just once.I still think these are awesome though and another thing I would say just use the middle inside piece from your old Joy con so the bumpers l&r buttons fit perfect and you don't even know the difference so doesn't matter.

An awesome way to make your switch unique
This is not a conversion for the beginner, the joycons are not easy to disassemble and put back together. But the result looks amazing. Nintendo should have sold a pair with clear plastic from the factory. They feel like they'll hold up very well, and in my week off using them have had no problems.I put four stars for material quality because the back case for the console doesn't fit perfect and mine has a few blemishes in the surface of the housing that look like overheat burn marks from casting.Honestly there's nothing to see on the back of the console like there is inside the controllers, I may just go back to stock on the switch, but not the joycons. I love them.

Clear is cool!
The console was easy to swap the housing. However, I would be very careful with the change of the joycon housing. I'm very technical savvy and still had trouble getting the wire connector to the battery off. Sometimes, the wires will come out of the connector. I recommend following video instructions thoroughly and be very slow when gently pulling the connectors.

Fit like a glove
Fit like a glove. Be careful and take your time and organize your screws, and watch all the videos you can on YouTube, esp the Jerryrigeverything.

Good, but not great
For me this was easy, but in all fairness I make money on the side repairing small electronics, my only complaint is, the back shell for the switch doesnt sit flush, and the kickstand wont lock into place
