When I read "Top carrying handle for easy carrying" I thought you could carry like a suitcase
When I read "Top carrying handle for easy carrying" I thought you could carry like a suitcase, don't recommend doing so, it has handles on each side so you can carry like a trunk. Something to keep in mind is just how much a "thousand" cd/dvd's actually weigh! If you are planning to use this as a way to access your dvd collection on a regular basis then I recommend finding a way to keep it flat and easily accessible. I put mine on a shelf that I added bearing wheels that I slide into a little nook area. I would also strongly advise getting some thin width weather stripping to attach to the metal row's on the lid to help keep the inserts from sliding around while moving. I do not recommend setting on it's side, especially before it's full because they will slip off, though I don't know if this is the case once it full, not willing to try risking it. I also strongly advise you have a good way to keep track of where you place your dvd's so you can find them, you will not want to search for something without it. They give you a sheet of paper the size of a cd box insert that has 250 lines on it, I can barely read that size much less write a title on it.This is a great product but you really need to plan ahead before using it, otherwise get ready to spend a lot of time digging trying to find a title if it is full. Also keep in mind that a 1000 cd/dvd's are heavy so if your not wanting to lug it around every time you want to access a title then find a good place for it. There are multiple software titles out there that work with iOS, android, and computers that allow you to track where you put them. Whatever you get make sure it has a "location" function so you can tell it where the disc is. Do this and you will benefit fully from this item.In the picture for location you will see the letters D & B, they simply stand for DVD & Blu-ray. Sorry about some of them being sideways, no clue why they got turned in the transfer and don't know how to fix it.

Compact, lightweight, great product
Overall great product. Compact and lightweight. Easy and convenient way to store and carry CDs and/or DVDs. Wonderful way to keep organized. I purchased one for CDs and discovered that I have to organize my hundreds of CDs in alpha (or some other order) before putting them in the sleeves as they come pre-numbered. It is great to have all the numbers but it just makes it more difficult to rearrange the CDs.

What are the ways you can store it when its closed.
I thought it could be stored on its side, but things got very messy on the inside, and it was 100% full, it must remain flat while its stored, which is problematic because it is too tall to hide under a bed, we have a smallish home and to keep it stored flat is virtually impossible, even if you have 2 there are parts on the outside that stick out, so it would be virtually impossible to get the two to sit covered to act as some sort of table or side table. Definitely would not recommend it unless you have someplace where you have the room to store it flat. It might help if there was a spring loaded device that holds each row in place, especially if it must be stored on its side!

Not sure I picked the best case
First I did not like the quality of the selves; flimsy thin plastic hangers. Then after I made labels and filled them, realized they hit the bottom of the case and did not really slide along the guides for that reason. Many also had the top lid that holds the CD's more secure, taken off and a few sleeves also had a manufacturing defect/cut into them about 1/8 of an inch long that I will have to fix with tape so it does not tear more. The worst issue was, once I had the case full, when I tried to close it, realized the lid did not align right. It was about 1/4 inch off to the side of the bottom. Will try to upload a photo later. They do not have any more to do an exchange and I've got week's worth of labels made for these already. The price was competitive and good considering free shipping and it's not a really a bad case, I think I just must have gotten the last one and may have been a demo because it had two spots on the lid.

Not impressed, I would be a lot less critical at $59.99!
Pro’s: It holds all my dvd’sCon’s: The slip covers were poorly manufactured and the cut out holes are not cut all the ways and either you can’t get them out of you damage the sleeve. The box itself if okay, it’s not stout nor robust, it’s nothing short of cheap Chinese junk. If you baby it, I’m hoping it will last but I would not count my dvd’s as safe if they took a spill. Another disappointment was the hinge, it stops at 90 degrees and any bump cause the lid to come crashing down. A detent or lock would have solved this. I went another route and removed them and bought latches like in the front that way I could remove the lid as desired.Largely a disappointment and at the price point, I just think it should have been nicer at $100.

Poorly manufactured sleeves
The metal bar that supports the sleeves are too long to fit the channels in the case. Possibly they were manufactured to fit apparently fit another case. They fit in the case, but diagonally.Update: The problem seems to be that the rails are not installed parallel. The first few sleeves seem to work OK, but they become diagonal after a few. So, the box is what is built wrong.

Perfect for filing up to 200 CDs and/or DVDs
This case is like a small filing cabinet with hanging folders. It comes with numbered index cards so you know the position in which each disc is filed, though I keep this info in a spreadsheet because I want to record more information about each disc than I can fit in the index cards. When I fill this case I will definitely buy another (I have 4 of them now).

Good Idea, Poor Execution!
The case showed up, and I started putting in CDs. I got about a third of the way done, on the 1st row, and noticed the sleeves no longer fit on the rails. The case has a slight bend in it, sending it back. A little more effort in the design & manufacturing and this would be a great product. But not worth $100, to me anyway.
