I am surprised this pack does not get more attention. There are three reasons I believe this is a great pack.1. It is extremely lightweight and comfortable. The pack only weighs a hair over 2lbs, yet it provides great comfort and weight distribution even at full capacity (and above).2. The build quality is superior. Everything from the fabric, to the straps, the stitching, and the zippers is very high quality. All have held up exceptionally to heavy abuse.3. 38L is a very versatile size. The capacity and roll up dry-bag style opening of this pack allow it to bridge the gap between the day pack and the multi-day mule.Lightweight, robust, and versatile. Has become an indispensable piece of gear.

I love this pack! However the one I received through Amazon was missing one the waist buckles. With that being said, get this pack! It truly will help you figure out what NOT to carry thru hiking. I can’t say enough great thinks about this pack. Get one!!

Granite Gear does it again - great pack! Smaller version of their award winning Crown2 60L pack, but with the roll-top feature, this bag can still swallow a ton of gear. My base weight (no food or water or fuel) is around 15lbs. I easily have used this for 4-5 day trip with room to spare, including all food and water, with room to spare.Pros:-lightweight just over 2lbs., but you can remove frame sheet and brain to have sub 2lb pack-durable-extremely smart design - webbing, tie downs, etc. in all the right spots-versatile - fully adjustable belt to get a dialed in fit; remove brain and belt and have a 10L day pack with hip belts (will need to use a bit of cord to tie one end of buckles, the other end they will connect.)-materials seem like they will hold up, but like all granite gear packs, their customer service and warranty are elite, should you run into a problemCons:-only small gripe I have is the side mesh water pockets; very difficult to remove/replace water bottles while hiking; Wish it had the lateral opening like some packs are now providing, or at least if they were cut lower so you could reach; but I typically clip water bottle to front shoulder strap or hip anyway, so not that major.Overall, this pack is insanely good. I can use for an overnighter, or long distance. Even could be used as a big day pack, just remove the brain and seal up with roll-top. Like with all packs, be sure you know your spine length as the harness is NOT adjustable, just the belt is. One of the most comfortable packs I've ever used to date, I've been guiding and backpacking for almost 20 years now.

This pack is light and durable. The clips are small but strong. The material feels thin and light but is strong.I was able to pack my sleeping pad, Sleeping system, sleeping bag, extra socks, 3 days worth of food, food bag, portable charger, head lamp, microfiber towel, first aid kit, cook equipment, and other necessities into the bag with room to spare.For a 4 day adventure my total pack weight was 26LBS which this pack handled with ease. The load lifters and hip belt helped distribute the weight where it should go and the pack fit tightly and securely.Parts of the trail were very technical and there were many ascents and descents. This pack allowed me to maneuver the load when things got tight. The pack stayed comfortably where it was supposed to and caused no issuesThere appears to be no damage where the bag scrapped rocks or came in contact with other surfaces.Over all this was a great back and after testing several ultralight style packs I am glad I chose this one. I am more of a light weight adventurer as opposed to an ultralight adventurer and I would say this pack is a good happy medium. It maintains a frame system while only weighing 2.3LBS. It was exactly what I was looking for and I am glad I chose it.The first pack i received had a production error. I returned it and received a perfect replacement. Always thoroughly inspect any gear you order online.

Love this back pack perfect for thru hike. Light weight and holds 37L....just enough to get me thru 3-4 days at a time. Only wish it had lower zipper to bottom half of the pack to get tent out of the bottom if it has been raining.

This bag sets nice on my hips and shoulders I have a 19 in torso so I got the regular size, after miles of hiking with it my shoulders are not tight unlike some other bags have cause sore shoulders. I only go for three day trips and only in the Spring, Summer and Fall so no need for the bigger 60 L pack. This 38 l pack can fit my hammock, tarp,top and under quilt, cordage bag, rain suit, clothes bag, threes days worth of food, toiletries, and electronics (headlamp, phone and charger) and still have some room left over.

Lightweight and functional backpack

I really like GG stuff. This is no exception. Remove frame sheet and lid and I have a sub 2lb pack that handles up to 25lbs like champ. Used this on a 4 day 45 mile trip and it performed great. Looking forward to putting many more miles on it.
