Seller Responded Positively
I previously wrote a review with my frustration over the price for the 4 bar pack and my initial interaction with the seller. I am happy to write that this seller has responded favorably and I am very pleased. These bars are a fabulous addition to a healthy high protein way of eating. The value is purchasing the 12 pack for 39.99. We have tasted many of the flavors and now have our favorites. I am very thankful for the seller reaching out to me.

David Protein Bars: A Game-Changer!
Finally, a protein bar that gets it right for me! David Protein Bars are a delish revelation for anyone serious about fitness and flavor. With an impressive 28g of protein and only 150 calories, these bars deliver incredible macros without sacrificing taste. Plus, they're sugar-free!I've tried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Salted Peanut Butter, and Blueberry Pie, and every single one is genuinely delicious with a soft, chewy texture—a welcome change from typical dry protein bars. Salted Peanut Butter is my fav. These are incredibly convenient for post-workout, snacks, or even a healthy dessert. They're also gluten-free and low-carb. If you are like me and want a high-protein, low-calorie, and delicious snack, look no further. David Protein Bars are a game changer for me. Highly recommend – 5 out of 5 stars

Changed the recipe and added unhealthy ingredients
The previous formula was a reasonably clean protein bar that I could find (still not completely clean), and I thought they were delicious, but now they’ve just changed the recipe and added maltitol, sucralose, and Acesulfame potassium (Ace-K), all of which are ingredients that many health-conscious people recognize as harmful to health.I reached out to David customer service, and they were really kind and responsive, which I appreciated. Nevertheless, I’ll post almost verbatim what I sent to them, because I want to encourage other consumers to fight for our health, and to consistently demand from companies that they stop selling us poison. Check out the other 1-star reviews here. People care. We do not want these ingredients.Note – I’ve had to remove the links to the studies I included, because Amazon will automatically redact them. But if you search for any of the things I’ve noted, you’ll find the research easily.------Message sent to David Protein: I want to share some feedback that you will hopefully consider, especially if other people like me write with the same concerns. I believe your product is a premium one (it certainly has a premium price) :) and it seems to be marketed towards people who take their health seriously. It’s frustrating that the food industry has continued on a decades-long trend to remove food from food. EPG, for instance, is not food. It’s an indigestible, synthetic, fat-like product. Take a look at these crazy side effects (some of which I experienced): (link to study was removed – google “EPG digestion side effects”) (Edit: Spoiler alert.... you might experience orange oily goo leaking out of your bum, including when you think you're passing gas...but surprise! Nope - time to shower and change your underwear immediately. I wish I was kidding. After I stopped consuming these bars, this bizarre symptom went away completely. EPG is not digestible by humans. EPG should not be sold. Google Olestra. This is Olestra 2.0.)I realize this ingredient was in your old formula, but I begrudgingly made my peace with it (Edit: this is no longer true - see my note above), but my true thought was – why don’t you just use a small amount of real fat? We, consumers, are not looking for calorie-free, food-free “food.” We want real food.Maltitol is a sugar alcohol. In recent years, it has come to light that sugar alcohols are associated with liver cancer. Check out: (link was removed – google “sugar alcohols and liver cancer”). I always mistrust something that seems too good to be true, especially sugar alternatives. Many health-conscious people, myself included, would be happy with just a small amount of real sugar or honey or maple syrup, as opposed to synthetic sweeteners. I believe that the danger of sugar alcohols will become more widely known over the next decade and people and companies who are paying attention will begin to shun them. And then you added sucralose and Ace-K. :( These are awful ingredients. I saw one of your Instagram ads, where people were pointing this out, and your responses to them were that they are “safe” and “FDA approved.” Do you know how many toxins and carcinogens are FDA approved? That can’t be the only source of “truth” that we listen to, because the FDA is not an angelic and altruistic organization. They are part useful and part pure evil. Both of these ingredients (and other artificial sweeteners), are linked to cardiovascular disease – which is the #1 killer in the US. Please check out: (link was removed – google “artificial sweeteners and heart disease”). Here’s another article on Ace-K: (link was removed – google “Effects of acesulfame K on human health”).If I were developing a product, I wouldn’t even consider including “questionable” ingredients (those that have raised enough red flags that they could be dangerous, even if there wasn’t a definitive cause/effect study produced). Why take the risk? There are so many extremely safe natural food ingredients to use. The problem is that little bad things like this, here and there, are used in tons of our food products, and over the decades, they add up to a big cumulative effect and cause serious diseases. Please consider this comment again: health-conscious people are looking for real food. The true solution is to just make everything from scratch at home, but it sure would be nice to find one convenient, truly clean protein bar to have occasionally. Thank you for reading, and I’ll truly miss your bars. They were delicious.

150 calories for 30 grams. Delish!!
I love these bars. They are a great meal substitute when you have no time to cook. I was surprised that the bars actually were so delicious, high in protein and kept my hunger away. Great for travel, too. I’ve tried peanut butter and chocolate and cookies and cream. My don eats these after his weight workout. For 150 calories, this is a great value even at almost $3 per bar.

great, except the cake batter
Tried the blueberry, cake batter, and red velvet so far - blueberry and red velvet are fire and had similar textures (soft and chewy) and tasted as I’d expect. The cake batter on the other hand was terrible. The texture was very dry and didn’t taste much like anything. It’s as if it was a normal protein bar that should’ve been covered in chocolate but wasn’t.Great macros but DO NOT buy the cake batter flavor

Excellent product and customer service
I have tried all of the flavors and they are all delicious. I highly recommend the product for purchase. The customer service is excellent and they really stand behind their product! I really love these bars…I’m not sure I could pick a favorite flavor because they all taste good.

Tasty, filling, and super convenient
I’ve been loving the Cake Batter flavor—really tastes like a treat without being overly sweet. What’s even better is that it has 28 grams of protein and only 150 calories, which is awesome for a quick breakfast. It keeps me full for hours and fits perfectly into my routine. Definitely ordering more!

Not like cake batter, more like flavored chewing gum.
The cake batter flavored high protein bars which I spent $39.99 on , didn’t taste like cakes or cake batter & the only way I can say that it’s high protein is because they claim that on the box !!!!It mentions putting the box in the fridge (which I think I should have done). The packages of bars were difficult to open because every piece of the bars- which touched the inside packaging was stuck to it. It really could have used some wax paper (between the bars and its packaging) or have it already cut into little pieces like a Hershey’s Bar.The box arrived inside a larger box (which protected them). They weren’t hard, stale or dry. They smelled perfectly fine (but then I had nothing to compare it against). Am I satisfied? It’s difficult answering that. Will I be buying more? NO. Were they worth the money? NO. Will I be asking for a refund? Probably not since I can’t actually return anything (I’m handicapped, bedridden and have been in a long term care facility since 2021) . I’ll probably ask my aides if they would like any, and also have the aides ask the patients if they would like some (our aides are aware of who can eat and those who cannot real food).
