This book was kind of lenthy for a group story time. It was good for one on on. Children should be familiar with all characters and the stories that they come from to follow.

Jack and Jill have lost their hill
Dora begins reading a bedtime nursery rhyme to her brother and sister, but in the story of Jack and Jill, a storm blows in and they can't find their hill. They decide to locate a map, and along the course of their quest, encounter such rhyme icons as Humpty Dumpty and Old King Cole, who find ways within their own venues to assist Jack and Jill. This is a fun variation on the classic children's rhymes, which, sadly, many kids no longer encounter and learn. Before beginning this book, it would be advisable to read the original rhymes (which are available not only in books but on the internet) that occur in this book and read them to your child, prior to beginning Dora's own adventure. Young children will surely enjoy meeting these classic characters in a different setting, while learning about helping others and solving practical problems.
