This paint brush set has a great variety of sizes and shapes to work with. I am new to watercolor and am still figuring things out so I didn't want to spread a lot on equipment until I knew I would like it. This set has allowed me to experiment and play with different techniques easily. Eventually a loose ferrule will fall off, although it is sometimes possible to pinch it tighter with pliers. The very first brush I pulled out of this package had a loose ferrule, which gave me a bad first impression. Thankfully, they weren't all loose, so your experience might be better.
