S**!
Doubtful at first, but this thing has won me over!
I wasn't sure I was going to keep this when I first received it, it seemed way too big to work as promised, especially on the edge of small spaces. However, after visiting a public restroom with no hooks and only a very thin bit of decorative tile going halfway up the wall (see photo), this thing worked perfectly and now I won't go anywhere without it! It has saved me from having to put my purse on the floor at many public restrooms and restaurants! Slides easily into the small back pocket on my purse.Bonus use: I sometimes clip it around the metal brackets of my car's passenger-side headrest to hold grocery bags so they don't spill everywhere when I have to drive on winding roads.

Decent product, but could use some improvement. Too expensive for what it is
I got a few of these as gifts, but I thought I'd give my (decidedly male) perspective on this product. So, if the basic idea is that nice handbags should not be placed on the floor, there aren't always good options available. Sitting on an extra chair is fine, as long as a chair is available. Hanging on a seatback is less desirable because it is more likely to get bumped into or fall off. This product is meant to add what lots of other countries already have affixed to their dining/sitting tables - a hook.Obviously, the item is fairly small, so it's easy/convenient to carry around in the smallest of bags. The ring is hinged in the center, so one part is supported by a table top, and the other acts as the hook for a handle or strap. In concept this is fine... in practice there is a fairly significant design flaw. While the ring ends have small, rubber anti-skid pads, they are too small. The pads are large enough to keep the ring from easily sliding off of the table surface, but it does not cover enough of the end to reliably keep from scratching the table surface. This isn't that important, but this item isn't very useful when the top surface doesn't extend from its base somewhat - imagine a kitchen island where the countertop is flush with the base. The barbs at the ends of the clip are meant to address this, but they aren't the best. For me, the item is still usable as a clip for a Tumi laptop case/backpack. The clip copes with the weight well (20+ pounds), which I think is more than most people would subject the clip to. Generally, there won't be many times when you have to put it down in an airport, but in some dining situations (long café tables, for example) it's best to hang it off of the top surface.I feel like the product would be greatly improved if the rubber pads were instead feet that fully encapsulated the end of the ring. That would cost more, on the manufacturing side, but it's hard to imagine that there isn't a TON or margin in this product (it's SUPER overpriced, IMO). I really would have a hard time recommending this to anyone.

Simple, Elegant, Functional, even for Men
I was at a restaurant recently and I had some expensive camera gear in my sling bag that I didn’t want to put on the ground or too far from my sight. When I turned around I saw a woman using a purse hook to hang her bag from the table and so I looked on Amazon and found this.I like this because for one it looks simple and sleek but is very functional. Being a male I didn’t want to use anything that looked like some of the other purse hooks for my camera bag. This really fit the bill because the simple black ring doesn’t draw much attention to itself.I also like the fact that it is spring loaded so I don’t have to put this in a pocket in my bag that I have to fumble through to find ever, I just leave it attached to my bag loop and use it instantly when needed. The spring seems to be reasonably strong whereas I don’t see it falling off without effort. The hook itself also seems very durable and well made. The metal construction feels sturdy and the rubber feet are a good amount of tacky to prevent slipping or sliding. I also feel fairly comfortable hooking on a thousand plus dollars of camera gear and other things to this. The price is slightly high in my opinion. I mean paying a premium price isn’t really all that much to ask for holding on to valuable and important things but I felt $15 should have been $10-$12 at most. I bought 3 in total for myself, my wife, and a friend and that added up fast.Price aside, this is simple, elegant, and very functional. The major test for this product will be the test of time so let this be a preliminary review and I will come back every so often to update this review on whether or not this clip holds up over time. For now, I think it’d great and even at $15 I can recommend it.

Useful and good looking
I love this purse hanger. It looks really good as a bangle so it comes handy whenever you need it. It's sturdy enough to hold a heavy bag and opens wide enough to fit most tables.

Broke after 3 uses.
Bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law. She used it three times and it broke. After reading all the positive reviews I thought this was going to be a great gift but it wasnt. And since she didn't want to tell me it broke, I now cannot do anything about it since it has been several months after the fact.

Five Stars - The Clipa is AWESOME!
I LOVE the Clipa. I can get my purse off my lap or the floor and hang it from just about anything, a table, rail, fence or at the movies from the drink cup holder. I have already given them to several friends. My husband has a silver one on his backpack, it’s great at the airport when the bathrooms don’t have a hook on the door. The Clipa is awesome!

Smaller and Still Strong
The Clipa2 is a little smaller and lighter than the original, but just as solid and strong. The polished hematite color is quite lovely. Some genius here commented to save your money and just get a binder ring. Well, the Clipa never scratches, is very high quality, and looks like a fashion accessory not office hardware. My original Clipa has been in use daily for two years and still looks good. They make great gifts.

Really Useful
Love this, have the polished silver one and used it regularly for years (until recently when someone helped themselves to it from my bag handle!). It's very strong and can hold quite a heavy bag or two; keeps bags off the floor and in view - the plastic-y bits on the open ends keep a grip on a polished or glass surface such as a shelf or tabletop, perfect. Just ordered a new one. Note: Either keep it on your wrist or inside your bag when not in use, otherwise some light-fingered person will make off with it!

Great product and sturdy.
Great product, has held a "fully stocked ladies handbag" without flinching. Very good length, accommodates the majority of restaurant tables.

Very good
Great product. Does exactly what it says. Only one complaint: the plastic bit inserted into one of the ends (presumably there to stop the ring from scratching surfaces) came off after about two uses. Apart from that, it's a sturdy ring which hangs very heavy bags from various places. I would buy more.

Good quality & it works
It is the most expensive and largest product of this kind I bought but it is worth it. It is in very good quality and it works.

Excellent hook, it can go on any surface - ...
Excellent hook, it can go on any surface - and the ring itself looks stylish so I keep it attached to my handbag handle.
