Reasonable Value for an Air Hose, Just a Little Less Flexible in the Cold than Others
This is not a bad air hose for the cost. I am comparing it to a couple other Hybrid air hoses I got at the SuperCenter store under the brand name 'Ultra Air' (yellow in color). For starters, both this hose and the Ultra Air one weigh exactly the same amount on my scale, 5.55 pounds. Both are rated to 300PSI, and both have bend restrictors on their ends, with the one on the Ultra Air hose being slightly longer. The YOTOO hose comes with a pretty nice brass I-M end and quick disconnect, while you have to install your own hardware on the Ultra Air hose. Once you do that, the price is more or less the same for either hose. All my air hoses use I-M connectors and the YOTOO hose fit great in their disconnects with no leaking, so +1 for ease of use and good sealing. For flexibility (air temperature in the mid-50s F) the Ultra Air has a slight edge. It is subjectively more flexible and the end sags further when you grip both hoses in the same spot and let them droop downwards. Part of this may be due to prior usage of the Ultra Air hose, and it's not a large difference, but it will be interesting to see if the YOTOO hose loosens up over time. The outer jackets of the two hoses are different. The YOTOO hose has a traditional-looking smooth dull red rubber cover, while the UltraAir hose has a glossier yellow cover with a bit of a texture or pattern visible in it.The red rubber cover scares me a little, as in the past I've found that these types of covers really like to dry rot and crack over time. This is one of the biggest reasons i started buying hybrid hoses, I got tired of tossing out what should have been perfectly good rubber air hoses due to the cracking (I do not store or keep my air hoses outside in the sun). I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that won't be the fate of this hose.Overall, I think this hose is a reasonable value, especially if you don't want to mess around with couplers, ends and teflon tape. Here, you can just take the air hose out of the box and use it straight away.
