Jade Pounamu is found in rivers in specific parts of the South Island of New Zealand. It is an extremely tough stone that can be carved and smoothed into beautiful and lustrous pendants, tools and even weapons. Jade Pounamu plays a very important role in Māori culture. It is considered a taonga (treasure) and has very spiritual significance to the people of New Zealand, and those who wear it. Our Pounamu jewellery is hand carved and we carefully select the pieces that we offer to our customers.
