biased. i love tya!
I love tya! Having played in bands with crazy lead singers, ott guitar players, insane keyboarders tya are balanced. And most bands dress up g c d songs as art! Tya just do it. Just rip alvin but saw you live! Rock'n'roll music to the world!

Very good album
This is a very good album that I bought after "the best of". It is a good mixture of rock and blues, and shows - with all the freshness - what the band will be able to give. It can be played over and over without tiring you. Recommended.

hard rock circa 1967
In 1967 there was a incredible new live group called 'ten years after' they were similiar in style to Cream, or savoy brown, and others of the day. But like savoy brown they were a sped up electric blues rockin band. Only they played faster and wilder. This was a really good starting point and in 1968 it rocked hard. One must put these releases into the time period they were released and not todays scene. This was a strong blues rockin early hard rocker. But it's not like the hard rock psych rock that was protometal they created from 1969 onward. IN 1967 though this was as good as any harder band out there and there's no pop in this one at all. I like pop but these guys charged out of the gate as a all blues hard rock outfit from the getgo. The sound is clear and well recorded. I like this early hard rock stuff and it compares favorablely with john mayall, savoy brown, the yardbirds and others. The two star guy is not looking at the year this was out. He only likes later types of hard rock obviously which is a shame. thankfully, I like this early hard rock and it's very blues driven. If you like the music scene of the midsixties then this is a example of what was blues hard rock of that period. They would explode into some fantastic real hard rock that is psych even in just two years time. Alvin lee though was a smokin guitarist. He later made the mistake of toning it down after he left ten years after. Still for 1967 this was wonderful music. It's of it's time though and it was a good time.

Excellent.
This is the first album produced by Ten Years After and I still feel it is one of their best. Great sound, including a brilliant version of Willie Dixon's "Spoonfull" and of course some superb guitar playing by Alvin Lee. For those Rock enthusiasts who do not own any of Ten Years After's albums, take it from me, you are really missing out and if you are thinking of starting a collection, then this is the one to start with because it is their debut album and like me you will probably want to collect them all in order.

even speedfingers habe the blues
Es mag vom Text her vielleicht ein wenig sexistisch sein und deshalb feministisch unnachgiebig geprägte Frauen nicht gerade ansprechen, aber wie Alvin dieses machoide "You have to wash, you have to sew, you have to cook, ...... and if you can`t help me babe, I go on the other side of the street and found somebody else" brutal hinaus röhrt, ist schon einsame, Gänsehaut erzeugende Spitzenklasse. Allen wurde bewusst: EVEN SPEEDFINGERS HAVE THE BLUES.
