Great sandal for the money- not a true "hiking sandal" though.
These are great. I wasn't sure about which size to get- I am a 9, typically, but depending on shoe, it can differ. Sometimes I go 9.5, but that's either in running shoes or some dress shoes. The 8.5/9 fit me perfectly. As far as adjustability, the strap behind the heel is what is adjustable. It connects to the straps that cross over the top of the foot, on either side. You can slide the heel strap up or down (or forward or back, depending on how you look at it), and it makes for a more snug or loose fit. My guess about people saying the straps get loose over time, *may* have something to do with this feature being a little more mobile after some wear. But, it could also be that the braids tighten up, making the straps be just a tiny bit longer than at purchase. Either way, for now they are great and I think for the price point (these aren't Chacos, after all) the quality is good and even if they stretch a bit, I would be glad I bought them. They are incredibly light, and the support is good- it's firm, without being stiff in the sole, or hard on the bottom of the feet. It's also not annoyingly squishy, which can feel kinda gross to my feet, especially if the shoe gets wet. In fact, I suppose they're so comfortable that the only way I think about my feet is to stop to consider how good they are feeling from time to time. The bottom of the soles are not what I could consider "hiking" sandals. They have texture for sure, but it is more like a light but dense foam/ (plastic?) I will feel ok wearing these in drier, slightly rough terrain, but I personally would not feel comfortable relying on them on wet or potentially slippery hikes.. however I've seen some reviews here that say they use them for that and with no issues. I suppose if they prove themselves trustworthy, then after some time I might give them a go at wetter conditions. They are quiet shoes, with the exception of the light sound of my heel lifting off of the back of the sole. I don't know that that is avoidable, but the shoes themselves don't make a lot of noise on the ground- indoor or outdoor.Overall, I would definitely recommend them. I will be using them for travel - to have a utilitarian sandal that can also be dressed up. Then just around town in my regular life when I return. If anything significant comes up after using them for sometime, I will edit this post.

Comfortable for every day wear
I was pleasantly surprised by how soft the straps were. The sandal is very comfortable for all day wear, standing and walking. The straps did not leave marks on my feet after wearing all day either. The straps may be slightly twisted when shoes are received, but are easily put into place and adjusted to fit your foot. They are not 'loose' fitting to feel too clunky so I do not feel unsure of footing when going up and down stairs. I like how my foot stays 'in' the sandal due to the slightly raised edges so there is no over hang of my feet. I bought these for an upcoming trip and have been test running them and they have become an every day wear.

BUY THEM!
I normally do not write reviews but I have to write about these sandals.I wasn't too sure because when I received them it didn't seem like there was much of arch support, and I have high arches, a small bunion and plantar fasciitis(extremelyfussy feet!!), but I figure I would give it a shot. I work at a large high school and I do a lot of walking all day long. One morning I threw them on but also put my comfortable shoes in a bag. I did not have to change into my shoes at all on the first day of wearing them! For me there was no break in time at all !!!!! I have gone walking for an hour with a friend 3 times so far and they are more comfortable than the sneakers that I have! I will be buying another pair or two or maybe even more!!!!!!! These sandals are so comfortable!

Pretty nice!
Really loving these sandals. Only type of complaint would be the toe strap on the right shoe is super high, where as the one on the left fits comfortably snug on my big toe. Which can be seen in the photo. Nice color. It’s made pretty well too. And they are super light weight. Overall I like them and would get another pair. Just wish the right toe strap was snug like the left one.

Comfortable!
I love these sandals! They are super comfortable!!! I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis, I wear arch supports in most of my shoes. That is not so easy with sandals so I was looking for sandals with arch supports and are comfortable for walking but still look good. These have some arch support, but not too much. If you have high arches they might not be enough. The sole has some cushion to it, but not too much. I walked a lot in them right from the beginning with no discomfort. I bought a second pair. They are true to size. I just wish they came in a 5.5 size. That is my true size but I had to order a 6, so they are a little big but I still love them.

Perfect sandals!
The sandals were amazing! I love them. Very comfortable as I walked so much (over 20000 steps) each day on a trip. They were dry very quickly (it was rainy and the sandals got wet in heavy rain). Another function that I am so happy with, they can turn into slip on sandals without the straps behind the ankles. I purchased green color and looking to buy a different color or different style from this brand.

Attn: Plantar Fasciitis Sufferers - This is the sandal for you!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have plantar fasciitis and have been desperate to find something I can use for my daily work walks on my 10 minute breaks that won't flare up my feet and breathe more than my sneakers with orthotics. These are it! So comfortable and way cuter than typical hiking sandals. I couldnt be happier. Will order another pair in an additional color I think! :)

Water park approved
I wore these to Typhoon Lagoon water park in FL. They were comfortable for the 7 hours I was there, walking on the pavement and in the water. There was no rubbing or slipping on my feet, including when in the wave pool and the lazy river. I wear a 5.5 and went with the 5.5-6. I’m also athletic built (size 2), with mildly flat feet, and my feet felt fine in these. At first, I was concerned they might be too loose, but they were great as a more flattering “aqua sock.”
