Well worth the price
Like most of us if you ride long enough you will most likely pick KCM as your choice for a a chain. There entire product is value packed. The big question is this chain worth near 50.00$. My conclusion is absultly yes and here is why. Most chains become rusted rather quickly if not oiled. In order for the oil to stick to the chain it must contain a tackifer. This sticker substance keeps the oil on the chain but also attracts dirt. If you add grit to oil you have what is called lapping compound which effectively grinds your chain and everything else it contacts to ruin. The better you lube your chain the quicker everything wears out. Believe it or but this seem to also be true even for the so called dry lubes. Simple test ..... Take a clean white tag and wipe your chain after a few rides and if the tag turns black and dirty I have made my point. The KCM chain in question solved the rust problem by being plated. No need for the oil coating. Now does the chain still require lubrication. The answer is yes but here comes the the age old problem of what to use. My conclusion is from day one soak your new chain in hot melted paraffin wax let cool and install. Once cooled the wax does not attract dirt ,the side plates and rollers are well lubricated and shifting is smooth and quiet. The clean tag test proves the running clean test and a the use of a chain wear gauge over time proves great lubrication. Since I have settled on this chain and servicing protocol chain rings, cassette gear, and deralliers are lasting longer and no more greasy dirty mess . Great chain check it out well worth the price.

Good as Gold!!! Use on an 8 speed actually!
Love this chain! Beautiful color.I have an 8 speed MTB and couldn’t find a gold 8 speed chain (yes I know the size difference) STILL WORKS GREAT!!!Gears shift smoothly and chain raddles less with the smaller links on a 9speed chain. If using on different speeds, WILL NEED to make sure you keep your bike clean or else you will experience problems from the size difference.

Super Chain!
KMC X9SL chain is one of the Strongest,Smoothest and Lightest chains on the market. It is great for Racing,But I am using three of the on my Terra Trike Tour for just that.It is a realible chain that saves me over a pound and a half in my drivetrain.Even at the price it is a bargain!I know it won't let me down. This was and is one of the best purchases I have made at Amazon.KMC 9-SpeedThanxSingle Leg Steve

Great chains
I have been using MKC chains for many years on my mountain bikes and my road bikes ,9 spd,10 spd, 11 spd. I broke one chain during that time, hit to high of gear going up a hill on my mtb and just crushed it. They are strong chains and the gold color is a nice bling. Using wax on the chain gives long chain life so the added cost is worth it.

Terrible Experience, caused me an accident.
The media could not be loaded. The chain jumps when I apply force, the next day I changed the cassette, chainring. The problem continues. Today I bought a Shimano chain and it was solved immediately, I am using a new 9-speed Shimano Alivio transmission.Measuring a new Shimano and new KMC chain, it is longer for each link, causing it to not work well.
