UNITEK USB 3.0 Hub (6 Ports USB3.0 + 2 Charging Ports) with Power Adapter

TRIED A HOOTOO HUB AND 2 ANKER HUBS BEFORE THIS ONE AND RETURNED ALL THREE AS I HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM, I GAVE UP BUT THEN FIGURED I WOULD TRY THIS ONE. I WAS ATTRACTED TO THE OTHER ONES AS I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED COOLER BUT THEY DIDN'T WORK AS GOOD AS THEY LOOKED., THIS HUB IVE HAD NOW FOR OVER A MONTH I BELIEVE NOW AND HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS FINGERS CROSSED, IT TRANSFERS FAST AND I HAVE TRANFERED TONS OF LARGE FILES, I HAVE SEVERAL LARGE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES CONNECTED AND IT HASN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS. GREAT PRODUCT. ,MAY NOT BE AS PRETTY AS THE OTHER 2 BUT AT LEAST THIS ONE WORKED!

Edited Post (5 stars):Distributor exchanged unit and my iPad now charges as expected.Original Post (2 stars as it did not power my iPad):You'd think with the iPad plugged into the port that has power that I would NOT see the "not charging" message on my iPad Air, but I do. Something seems WAY off about that. Otherwise not a bad hub for the computer if you just need some extra USB3 ports.

The charging ports work perfectly with my very voltage-finicky iPad. Also, this hub is at the end of a 16 foot active USB extension and flash drives work fine. Don't know that I would trust an external drive enclosure but I have not specifically tested it. Also, I love the fact that there are ports on the front & back - allows me to keep the non-changing stuff like keyboard & mouse tucked away while the dynamically used front ports are kept available for things like flash drives & x-box controllers (for the PC).

This has been a great hub, its fast and charges my items quickly. I had one die on me 11 months after I purchased it. Unitek was swift in their response and sent me another one after I provided my proof of purchase. Their customer service has been excellent. I will buy more of these or other Unitek products in the future.

I'm still unsure if I would rather 8 data ports with lower charging or 6 ports with 2 charging ports. I find myself leaving things connected long enough to charge either way. But I'm often disconnecting the cord between charge and data to copy stuff to tablet. I've had not data speed or connectivity issues with the hub. Pretty good value.

I like it. None of the USB ports seem to be able to charge the new tablets and phones. I put this on my desktop and I can charge my devices and don't need to have a second hub for connecting memory sticks to the computer - just what I needed.

I bought two units a year ago. One of the units is not working well anymore. I got a warning on the macbook pro stating that the port was overheating and some devices, when they are hook through the Uniteck Hub, don't function properly.

Good, solid product. So far it has provided me with everything it was advertised for: six high speed 3.0 usb ports and two charging ports at 2.1 amps (very convenient for phones and small tablets). I found the price/quality ratio to be quite reasonable.
