A Star For Every Second of Flavor
The running joke with this gum is that the flavor does not last long. So of course going by that the product would not get 5 stars, BUT I bought this as stocking stuffers as a gag gift because my family and friends watch Family Guy and they have a little joke about it on there as well. They got quite a good chuckle out of that.Anyway, aside from the 5 seconds of flavor (only slight exaggeration), the nostalgia is forever. It even still had the little tattoos on the wrapper. And it also smells really good!It was a little pricey, but I am guessing that is because it is not widely distributed anymore. Definitely can't find it in stores! (At least not here)I think Christmas morning made it worth the price, but I would not buy this for myself.Bottom line: If you're familiar with Fruit Stripe Gum, you know what you're getting into. If you have never had it before, it looks and smells great, and tastes great, but not for very long.

An essential part of a healthy diet
That's right, I said it and you read it. Fruit Stripe is part of the main essential food groups: Payday, Chunky, Mallomars and Fruit Stripe. Now, this is not your father's gum...or, maybe it is, since I'm old enough to be your father and it's my type of gum, so, that's a thing.Anyhoo, to the product itself. Welp, I had been overtaken by an extended fever/sore throat and was finally coming out of it and was getting tired of lozenges and hard candy. Then I remembered my old pal Yipes. And, what do you know, I could get 1-day shipping on a 12-pack. Done and done! The gum remains as I remember. I see reviews suggesting the outside wrappers don't match the inside colors. I haven't noticed that in the first pack I've opened. Everything is exactly as I recall. And, you know, it works great for the sore throat, so that's a thing, too.Of course, the only spot of sadness related to Fruit Stripe gum is that down here in steamy South Florida, you cannot put a pack in your car for enjoyment on the go...'cause those wrappers "melt" right into the gum around 2 pm in the afternoon. Sigh.Fun, tasty and part of an essential diet! Fruit Stripe is highly recommended.

Great Childhood Classic
I grew up with this gum and for the longest time craved it until one day I searched Amazon just to see if it was still around. Sure enough it was. I've ordered probably 10 boxes already and all have been fantastic. Just be warned, the gum will pick up the flavor of wherever it was stored. I had one box that tasted like cardboard dust. My guess is that it was probably on the outer edge of a crate. The rest have been amazing.I only wish the flavor lasted longer, but thats all part of what makes this gum so damn addicting.

Not too crazy about these and the smell is overwhelming ...
Not too crazy about these and the smell is overwhelming. Got way too many of them. Dry and not a lot of flavor.

This is the gum you remember, however...
When I purchased this box of 12 packs, the reseller available through Amazon was "The Candy Store". I paid just over twenty bucks, including shipping. So, a bit under 2 bucks per pack. Why? Well, because I like the flavor (still made with regular, plain sugar) and I can't find it at any brick & mortar store near my home. The packs are the traditional brick orientation, not the newer, flatter style that fits easier in the pants pocket. One thing I found discordant with buying this product today versus what I remember as a child is that now, the color of the gumstick wrapper does not necessarily match the flavor/color of the actual gumstick encased within. Additionally, the sugar coating on the gumsticks is sometimes unevenly applied, such that it will billow out in a faint poof of dust when you open the gumstick wrapper. Don't get me wrong... I identify these as first world problems (i.e. trivial), nothing catastrophic.

Delicious gum for about 15 seconds!
This is my husbands favorite gum. I bought it for him as a gift and he really loved it. The gum was very fresh and had a good taste. There is a good amount of sugar in it. THe flavor doesn;t last very long so he went through it fairly quickly. The tattoo wrappers are cute.

If it's for kids, good buy. If not, don't bother
It came quick, which I appreciate. I chew Hubba Bubba a lot so I'm used to flavor running out within a minute, but sheesh! I can barely taste any flavor when I put it in my mouth. No wonder why I used to shove in as many sticks as possible.

Kids loved it but was stale, quick loss of flavor.
This gum looked like the original but it was not soft and pliable like I remembered when I was a kid. It also lost flavor very quickly. With the larger packs they all come loose once opened. Still, was a hit with the kids.
