Retro Tassel Door Curtain Fly Insect Bug Screen Plain Cream String For Doorways

Bought this for our sliding patio doors. Together with the tension rod (purchased separately) this provides a very simple, easy to fit insect screen which has proved great value for money. I tend to leave the sliding door open about 14 - 18 inches and bunch the curtain over the gap so there are more strands to provide a thicker "wall". Have had the odd tiny fly get through but it has certainly deterred the bees and gnats and hopefully the wasps when they appear whilst allowing fresh air into our lounge. So far am delighted but will post an update at the end of summer.Update: having had this for over a year now. I am still giving it 5 stars. It works brilliantly and keeps the majority of flies, wasps and other larger bugs out of our lounge. It was simplicity itself to fit and I am so pleased with it that I am going to order another one for our kitchen. Yes, you will still get the odd tiny bug come in but compared to much dearer "insect screens" this does do an excellent job.

This is a good product offering an effective fly and animal screen (cats certainly don't like it).I bought a similar product 5 years ago and it has been an effective screen and, now I've moved, I wanted to put the same type of screen up over the doors at my new home.The downside of this screen is that it is just wide enough to fit a single door and therefore, when there is a breeze, it tends to open up gaps that let flies through. When I compared, I realised that the old ones are about 3' 6" wide across a standard door and are therefore gathered making a much 'thicker' screen.The answer for me is to buy a second one to put on the same door and create a thicker curtain - at this price it hardly breaks the bank.

Bought this early summer after spending last summer swatting flies in my kitchen constantly due to bins being sited behind kitchen porch area. Bought based on reviews and am very glad to say this really works. Have had a lovely summer where I have been able to leave all back doors open for access for my pets and kids... No more banging of doors in & out & more importantly no more flies. Only downside is the tassels tend to knot at bottom meaning occasionally when you walk through you end up getting strangled as it ends up looping round you the further away you walk, but, it's only a second to untangle & I would rather deal with this than the flies. Easy to instal,very neutral colour and an added bonus this year was my new kitten seems to love swinging from it Tarzan style. So free cat toy too. Don't hesitate to buy this.

At first glance these curtains seem to be as good quality as previous one bought, but the tassles leave a bit too much gap to keep flies out. Although to be fair, even with less gaps on the previous one, the insects still got in; not a great deal can be done there.On closer inspection today after I thought something had got caught on one of tassels, I discovered a knot! This was obviously done in the factory by a worker (no one here other than me); although it's done neatly & these curtains are cheap enough to replace, I don't expect to find a repair job on a brand new product!!

Did not use this but the delivery (and subsequent refund) all excellent customer service. I did not take the curtain out of packet as could see straight away that it was not going to be what I wanted. I have seen these curtains up and they look good but, for some reason, I thought this one had double strings. It didn't and it was my mistake so I returned it. I particularly was worried about my small grandchildren (6 year old twins and 4 year old) running in and out and getting tangled. So, although it looked a lovely curtain I decided to return it for that reason.

Great. This seems to have worked for me. Used to have lots of flies, wasps and bees visiting the conservatory ... but no more! You have to be careful, however, when using the curtain in a strong wind as the threads are so light. It tends to tie itself in knots at the bottom, and it takes more than a little time to sort it all out!

The quality if fine and it is as advertised, looks good when installed. The problem is that a slight breeze and it opens constantly and does not deter the flying insects. I have since bought a magnetic net form Amazon that whilst it does not look so attractive but works well in stopping flying insects whatever the weather conditions. Pretty but not so good for the purpose purchased for.

Not one fly has been in the house since I put this up!!!I got the cream colour ans it blends in with my cream and brown kitchen a treat. Previously I had an old plastic curtain and it blew about in the wind letting all the flies in! I was constantly swatting! I put this up the afternoon I received it (it was dispatched in great time too!) and have had it up for 3 days and there has not been one fly!The other thing I like is that as it is quite dense, its difficult to see through.... which means the neighbours who could see into the house, now can't! So an added bonus!Superb and perfect!
