Flowers and botanicals
This book is excellent. It demonstrates easy to follow methods which could be applicable to drawing subjects other than flowers. Diane Cardaci starts with the basics (blocking in),then working in stages to produce realistic drawings of flowers. she describes several techniques of shading including the use of a "stump" (Carrie Parks also uses this technique) which works well although some English botanical artists do not like using this technique as it may leave too much graphite on the work. However it must be said that her illustrations are delightfull. There are many graded examples to work through which really help. Thoroughly recommended!

A great little book
At last a book that gives the basics of how to draw flowers. No expectation of drawing experience required, just drawing made easy for first time artists. However, there is also plenty for those of us who can draw. She teaches how to look at the shape of the subject, to break it down into basic parts, and then in easy steps to develop the drawing.I used her techniques to create a sunflower painting as a wedding gift.A great little book, perfect size to put in a bag on field trips. I thoroughly recommend this book.

An Excellent, detailed and instructive book
Small, but perfectly formed. This is a very packed book. Easy to read and follow, ideal for beginners, and thouse perhaps slightly rusty in their technique. Highly recommend this.
