Warning! Steam comes out the tip of flat irons, may burn. Laborious process but hair was soft
5.24.18: Update! Based on my earlier review (below) I requested a refund. I was contacted immediately by the Seller's (Mupho) spokesperson who said customer satisfaction is "set on first place" and she apologized for my experience. I was really impressed that the seller's spokesperson said she'd pass on my suggestion to her managers regarding putting out a warning that steam comes out really hot at the tip of the flat irons and it can burn you. Not all steamers operate like this one from what I've been reading so I feel that a warning will come in handy to novice users like myself. I was really impressed by the excellent customer service. This seller went beyond and above to ensure I was a satisfied customer. Because of this, I changed my review from "2 Stars" to "4 Stars". However, my review of the product still remains._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________5.21.18: Meh. Warning! Steam comes out of the tip of these flat irons and the hand I used to hold my hair got steamed-ouch! Also, as I straightened one section of my hair, the steam escaping at the tip frizzed areas of my hair that I had already straightened. I also didn't like the fact that I had to fill the chamber, which hold 3.7 ml of water about 7-8x's. I have less hair that the lady who posted the video. I'm African American & my hair is fine, coilly and curly. All and all, it took nearly 2 hours of grabbing small sections as in the video posted & refilling the water chamber. The process was very laborious but in the end I liked the softness of my hair. I washed my hair the night before only using Paul Mitchell Foam Wrap pomade. I braided my hair while wet & allowed it to air dry. I put light oil in after I flat ironed. The next day I went over hair because the humidity from rain frizzed my hair up and I used it without the steam using serum for hot appliances. This is when my hair smelled like it was frying, just like it did when I used ceramic flat irons. I am returning these flat irons.

Straightens hair FAST! Less hair damage
This hair straightening is pretty decent. I have very wavy hair and this straightens it almost as good as the most expensive CHI straighteners. It also heats up FAST and is very efficient at doing so. I ultimately chose this over non-steaming straighteners to help lessen the damage to my hair and to heal it, and this indeed feels like it may be less damaging. Even though it states NOT to put essential oils in it, I add a drop of argan oil into the water before steaming my hair. We’ll see if it messes up the straightener long term. The only draw back is the water bottle that comes with it and the overall mechanism of the straightener. It’s a pain to constantly refill and ALWAYS is out of water. About every 10 minutes it needs to be refilled. Also, if you lose the refill water bottle you can’t just fill it up with water because of the way it’s designed. I’m not sure how to purchase a refill bottle either. So it’s only a matter of time before it ends up in the same place all my socks end up— MIA.**If you liked my review please mark it helpful. 4b Type Hair with Professional-like Results
The media could not be loaded. I am an African American woman with natural hair. I was searching for a steamed flat iron because my stylist recommends and uses one. This product will definitely straighten your hair, and the healthiest way for natural hair is steam. My hair thrives best with both water and oil. The water container is small of course, so I had to refill it a few times to complete straightening my entire head; which is expected because it is a hand held straightener. I have a 4b type curl, and I was impressed with how straight it got. The only reason I am giving this product a 4 is because the flat iron aspect did not work too well for me. After use, I still had to style my hair with a different flat iron. This is a problem because I am trying to avoid over usage of heat. I would however recommend this for any one with natural hair. My goal is to use heat as little as possible, and this straightener got the job done.

I switched from CHI **UPDATED**
I am truly impressed with this steam straightener. My hair (bleached, vivid colored, & fine/thin) is the softest its been in d*mn near 10 years! There is a 'rope' in the tank that directs the water to the steam output which helps soo much. If you've tried other steam straighteners, you'll be spoiled with this. My hair also STAYS STRAIGHT all day!!I plan on selling my CHI and keeping this one :) 10 STARS!UPDATE***4th time I used this steam straightener it stopped putting out steam. I contacted the seller and they replied same day with instructions on where to send the new item. I am very impressed and hope I don't have the same issue with the new straightener.

Oh My GOODNESS
The media could not be loaded. At first I did not think it would work on my natural hair. To my surprise it worked so good my mom is begging me to use it on her hair. It was so easy to use. I guess because of the steam my hair was not burning hot after coming out of the flat iron. I had no product in my hair and it left my hair very soft and shiny. My hair looks as if I paid someone to do my hair for me.The only downside for me was I had to keep refilling the atomizer thing. I used the entire little plastic bottle it came with buy the time I Finished my entire head. Even with that it is still oh so worth it.

Salon Results at home
I recieved the steam flat iron today and was excited to try it. I have thick ethnic hair, not course but thick and using a regular flat iron tended to dry my hair out. This was a complete delight. It was easy to fill and use. The iron glides nicely over my hair and the steam left it silky and shiny. I definately recommend this styling tool. I used it on small sections of hair and larger ones too, because sometimes I am in a hurry or need a touch up. Worked fabulous on both the small sections and the larger ones too. Felt like I just got out of the salon chair.
