Sanco Industries Stock Plex- Stock Tank Algaecide

In fairness, I have not yet used this product, but my complaint is in the packaging. In looking for an algaecide for the horses' water tank, I read that this product contained copper sulfate. I have copper sulfate that we use for treating our ponds and I could've just used it. I chose to order this anyway as it was labeled for stock tanks and it appeared to have a handy way to dispense the right amount without having to reduce down our other to the proper application rate. I was disappointed to find that this bottle is meant for larger bodies of water. The application rate is .25 oz for 265 gallons, which will have to be reduced even more for our 100 gallon tank. That small amount cannot be measured in the measuring spout part of the bottle.

The item I received is not as pictured!! The pictured one has the ability to squeeze the dose into a chamber. THE ONE I RECEIVED IS POURABLE ONLY. Since my better half opened it I cannot return it. VERY disappointed as it is not easy to read the directions and find a medicine cup that will work with this.

I have used this product in my water troughs for over 3 years and have had excellent results. East Texas has high humidity so the water does not always stay completely clear but the algae does not stick to the trough, easily hosed out. I have used it in the big trough we use for a swimming pool for the kids and it works just fine. I bought two quarts in May of 2018 and just finished up using the second one. Rainy, hot even warm, weather makes algae grow quickly and this product does it's job quite easily. Great for horse operations using smaller tanks.

I have a 500 gallon water trough for my ducks and dogs to drink out of or to just cool off, It would turn green in a matter of days under the direct sunlight here in Texas. I wanted to see if this worked, so I just added it to the already green water. I used about an ounce or less and within two days, the water had cleared up. Very happy with the product.

In California the heat makes our large water tubs turn green quickly. This works well and we just such a small amount that it lasts for ages.
