Inexpensive camera system but gets the job done
I purchased the Funlux 8-ch 1080p HDMI NVR sPoE system because I didn't want to deal with extending BNC cables and having a power source for each camera. Having experience with Cisco PoE wireless access points, I figured I cut make my own CAT5e patch cables and run them to the NVR. I also had hard drives on hand so there was no need to purchase a unit with a HDD. I tested the cameras before mounting them around the perimeter of the house. Most of my house is finished making it harder to get to the location for the NVR. Other than running into distance issues (Zmodo shows with CAT5e and coupler, the total length of cable is 200'). I had recut and crimp CAT5e cables for maximum of approx. 130'. Before cutting the CAT5e cables I tried using 100' and 50' CAT5e cables purchased from Home Depot. The cameras were not recognized with these cables. I tried the same brand at 7' and 15', the cameras were recognized and worked without incident. So shorten the existing CAT5e cables it was. That did the trick. All cameras were recognized and working flawlessly. The video from the cameras are crisp and clear even in night vision mode. Motion detection may be a little too sensitive. When the sky shifted from sunny to cloudy I received a motion detection alert. A spider web moving in the breeze would create a motion detection alert. Even the headlights from a vehicle would recreate a motion detection alert. I'll play with the sensitivity settings to see if I can weed out some of the false-positive alerts. The Funlux app works just fine for my needs. I am able to monitor each camera, view alert footage and replay recorded video. This system fits my needs completely.

Shockingly Decent for such a cost effective system!!
So this is a 100% shocking review, I did not expect much for the price, however I was pleasantly surprised!! For under 150.00 this may be the best camera system out there in that price range. The picture quality is about 25x's better then I expected and setup was a breeze. It will be hard for me to rate any other camera system now. I have spent 500+ dollars and gotten systems that did not look or function as well. Well done Fun Lux you have my business until a company does better for a cheap system.

Great camera system for the price, but has some downsides
Overall it's a great camera system. Easy to set-up, good quality, good image, great price.Complaints I have so far:- From the time I got my cameras until now, the Funlux online website is not working, so I can't see the video through it. However, I happened to know that Funlux and Zmodo (another camera brand) are sister companies, so I logged in to that site just in case and what do you know, it worked there. Certainly a plus that there's an alternative, but a downside and counter-intuitive that I had to use another site. If I hadn't known this, I still wouldn't be able to see the footage live online from a computer.- Movement notifications stopped working in my app. The Alerts are still registered and saved in the app itself, but I don't get them as notifications on my phone anymore even though it's configured correctly. I haven't tried to troubleshoot this much because I haven't had the time, so it's probably solvable, but just the fact that it doesn't work flawlessly all the time is definitely an opportunity for improvement.- Sometimes the app doesn't open if I'm on data (not WiFi) or a slow connection on my phone, and it gets stuck there. I get around this by forcing the app to shut down and reopen it when I'm on WiFi again. Definitely annoying and a deal-breaker if I can never check the live footage on the go on my phone.I'm hoping that the app related issues are directly tied to the Funlux app specifically. There are other apps out there that I've heard work with these cameras, like the Zmodo app or MeShare. I'm going to try those later to validate that. Those are issues that I think I can live with for the most part, specially because I have either found or will find workarounds to them, but that's because I'm a technology oriented person. For a less tech-savvy individual though, I see them being annoyed with some things.

Not an honest company.
The cameras work ok. The APP continuously restarts on both devices i have it installed on so thumbs down on the app. Funlux will send you a free camera offer with no obligation. Then when you try to claim it they will ask for a copy of you review. I have not received the camera.

I am bad at installing stuff but this one was very smooth
I needed a not so expensive non Cloud security camera. The one I purchased has a built in 1TB disk and 4 POE cameras. POE is important because then you just have one cable to deal with. The cameras came with long cables, enough to reach far areas from where the DVR is placed. I am bad at installing stuff but this one was very smooth. I installed 3 of the cameras. Thanks to the thin cables, I did not need to drill a single hole. The android app let me configure all the cameras and soon I could watch all the cameras on the phone, LIVE ! I can go back and the yellow bars on the timeline shows me where all the camera detected activity. I get alerts whenever activity is detected and the short alert video clips are stored for a couple of days for free in the cloud for free. Note that I am not paying for the cloud service at all and I can view live and recorded clips from anywhere in the world where I have internet. And you can view the cameras on your laptop browser too. Amazing ! I should have bought this earlier.Cons: The app took time to detect the cameras during installation but for this price, I will not deduct any stars for this.
