Q: How well does this pair with xpro2? i want something for both wildlife and close focus. i am torn between this and the 100-400. thanks!

It works well with the xpro2, all of the lens’ features are fully supported but you’re going to stick to the evf, it’s a fairly quiet lens comparing to the 50-140 and doesn’t drain the battery as quick. For wildlife the 300mm end may not be sufficient depending on what you want to shoot, but you can get a 1.4x teleconverter for extra reach. I used the70-300 with xpro2 and 1.4x converter for about 4mnths and this setup worked very well for its weight and image quality. If you want to do close focus then the 79-300 is the better choice here because it’s minimum focus distance is 80cm, it’s 1.8m for the 100-400. I’d suggest go for the 70-300 first, if later on you want an upgrade, the 150-600 is the way to go, for its extra reach and internal zoom mechanism.
