This shampoo does add lots of texture to my baby fine hair which I love but just like all other hair dyes I have tried it does not color my gay hair. But then this shampoo does not color my black/brown hair either. So although the shampoo feels clean and adds texture to my hair, it did not color it. I would have been okay with it had it just been the gray hair, but this shampoo did not color or even the color of my black/brown hair. So to me, it does not do what it states it will do.
