Great for sweating your butt off.....
....or in my case for sweating your handles off. If the weather is consistently above 40 degrees F, I'm outside. It took me too long to get on the trainer after the outdoor season ended, so I gained 5 or 7 lbs. I'm trying to work some of it off for the tough hill climbing this coming season. I own three 3LC videos. They all have their merits and different challenges. This is a good one to start with. I have a cadence meter which is very useful with these workouts. If you are really OCD, you can record your progress. I used to be OCD, but not anymore. At this stage of the game (60), I'm just trying to get through these workouts and say that something is better than nothing.I'm sure that these are great for any level of fitness, and if you like the DVD format which places you side by side other riders being trained indoors, then this is for you.

Love it
I bought this dvd to round out my 3LC collection and I couldn't be happier. This DVD follows a similar warm up process like the others then builds into a few difficult time trial efforts and a cool down. Sounds simple enough, but it is quite challenging. This dvd focuses on your lactate threshold, pace and mental toughness. You get out of this dvd exactly what you put into it. If you follow the dvd and put the work in, you will get faster and feel stronger on the bike. While the dvd does not require a bike computer or any other equipment, I have found it extremely helpful to use a cadence sensor. It's nice to be able to look down and see your cadence and gauge where you're at, that try to follow the cyclists on the screen (though it is definitely doable). And it's nice to track your progress via garmin/strava/etc...Bottom line, I couldn't recommend this or the other 3LC dvds more. Love every second of them.

Very effective TT/tri bike workout
The video is straight forward and to the point. You can do this on a traditional road bike, but I recommend a TT bike to maximize the effort. 3 major efforts at 8 out of 10 intensity, just above threshold. This includes a 7 minute, 6 minute, and then 5 minute two-tiered interval. Works well with TrainerRoad, but you can use cadence if you don't have access to TrainerRoad or a power meter. Not as exciting as a Sufferfest workout, but very effective nonetheless.

Solid workout-get ready to burn
Water bottle was empty 2/3's into the workout. I used cadence but can be done with heart rate if you know your zones or perceived exertion . Great way to break up all the indoor base training. Looking forward to trying other workouts in the collection. Use this as your once a week power building workout out during the off-season. Highly recommended.

Great buy
If you'd much rather be out riding with friends but just need to get some riding in when it's dark or winter (not a factor for me in southern California), then these 3LC videos are perfect. The friendly teasing and banter between the Manx riders creates a lively atmosphere and it's helpful to hear the coaches too.

Very good no frills
Very good no frills, no nonsense efficient workout. It does the job for a mid week high intensity interval session. Would be nice if total workout time was 1 hour instead of 50 minutes.

Exercise and Fitness
I highly recommend this dvd. It is the best cycling workout, it really pushes you to the next level and will leave you knackered. So if you are looking to really push your self and train hard then training with the Manx is the way to go!

Challenging, Engaging, & Overall Excellent Time Trial Session!
I completed the 3LC Time Trial Workout for the first time this morning. Wow, What a fantastic, grueling workout! It wiped me out, but in an effective way. In a TT race, you're supposed to give it all you have at the end and empty your tank. There was nothing left in my tank this morning after doing the TT workout! I liked how one of the coaches kept offering words of encouragement to the cyclists in the session (and me!), such as focusing on keeping your power and pedaling smooth. Unfortunately, I was pushing for too high of a power and so my focus on both power and cadence was waning. I'm on tap to do this workout again next week as I purchased the 3LC training plans and just started the five-week sportive plan--today's TT was the first workout on the plan. Can't wait to give it another go and be more realistic about what I can accomplish. :-) This is the fourth 3LC session that I've completed overall. The others were Road Race, Ladies Road Race, and Climbing. I love them all and they're by far some of THE best indoor cycling workouts available. Excellent coaching tips and encouragement, realistic race simulations, a good variety of effective intervals, extremely fit cyclists/racers (some pro!) in the sessions, and a total 100 percent focus on the workout on hand. I'm looking forward to continuing to suffer along the cyclists in the 3LC sessions. After completing my 5-week 3LC training plan, I'll conduct a 20-minute field test. Something tells me my functional threshold power will reach an all-time high. :-)
