I’d give it 100 stars if I could!!!
I can’t rate this wonderful just for what it’s adverised for Kimchi and kraut. Never made Either. What I CAN rate it for is the greatest container for Amish Friendship Bread starter (aka Herman, sourdough starter). Decades of messy, sticky, stinky zipper storage bags have come to an end! I’ve been using this container for about 6 weeks. The nifty little valve on top does away with the need to monitor for the release of air due to fermentation. I’ve also noticed my starter doesn’t separate and get liquidy and lumpy. I can’t recommend this great little product enough. I love it! As a bonus it was packaged nice and neatly too!

Don't Use for Hot Pickling Solution
You can't do any hot pickle solution with this product. The plastic melt so I wasted money buying this product. They should put this on the product description. It is noted in extremely small print on the jars themselves and it's only in Celsius. For us in the US we would need to do the calculation. They might be good for other purposes but in what I was trying to use them for they didn't work well.

Perfect for no-fuss fermenting
I can't stop buying these because they are so wonderful! As you can see I have used them to ferment all sorts of things. They work like a charm and are super easy to use.

Great design, easy and fun to use!
Great for home made sauerkraut. One bag of coleslaw, one tablespoon Himalayan Pink salt, one Kefir starter capsule, and filtered water. Perfect the first time. I see some complaints about the strainer being hard to get in and out. My recommendation is to leave enough room at the top of the jar to turn it sideways to push in and pull out. I had no problem except the one time I tried to pack the jar totally full. I saved some juice to use with future batches. You can watch the bubbles of carbon dioxide float up as it turns into sauerkraut.

MELT DOWN
Plan to use for ferments—bread/kefir starters and raw vegetable and fruits. To sterilize the jar for food storage, decided against dishwasher—plastic looked too flimsy—and went with vinegar and hot water rinse. As soon as poured the hot water the jar MELTED!! These jars are NOT food quality if tunable to handle hot water. I’ll ask for refund

Can't open the lid...
After packing it full of Kimchi and opening once to push air bubbles out, I can't get the lid to come undone. I'll have to cut it open to even taste the result...

Made my best kraut.
Success making kraut - so much easier than doing it in a crock and no problem with mold.
