Gathering Storm: Knights of Black Swan, Book 5

Another Great Story in the Black Swan Saga
Gathering Storm (book #5 of the Black Swan series) by Victoria DanannReview by Georgianna SimpsonThis is book number five of the Black Swan series, and it’s just as exciting and fun as the first four. Our friends in this wonderful world are in an ever changing heap of shite! BTW this is not actually for minors…there are some really hot sex scenes here and there. The story, however, is absolutely wonderful.Victoria has created not just a world, but many worlds in various parallel dimensions. Many things on each are the same or almost the same with some unique differences. These differences can be very small to extreme, but always interesting.Elora Laiken is still being chased by fanatics from the dimension where her estranged and dysfunctional family was in power, until the Ralengclan crew overthrew them and killed them all with the only exception being Elora. A total fanatic Rothesy, a leader of Ralengclan is obsessed with killing her. Ram (her elf husband) and the Black Swan knights do a wonderful job of protecting her, but she is sometimes her own best savior. It so interesting to see these heroes living their lives, falling in love, being married, having children; all the while training young second sons to be the next generation of Black Swan knights! It all makes a very intricate and enthralling world. One instance of incredible daring in this unique storyline the knights and their mates having children; with parents who are part demon, witch and human is wonderfully interesting to watch (or rather read). Rosie, daughter of Litha (witch and part demon) and her Black Swan knight husband Engel Storm (part demon himself) are in for the ride of their lives as their little girl grows about six months every day! Yes, this is truly a fun journey; except when Storm gets “dropped” into the passes (the highways between dimensions) while being taken to work by Litha’s demon father (whose name strangely enough is Deliverance, and oh yes…he’s a sex demon). Unfortunately, it’s not just a quick trip back to find out where he was “lost”. The possibilities are endless and it’s rather like finding a needle in a haystack….the fun really begins when Deliverance brings home “the wrong Storm”. While the “real” Storm bides his time in the dimension he “fell” into!Add to this incredible story the renegade team of Black Swan knights, Z Team. This group of misfits gives “bad boys” a whole new meaning! Some funny and some not! Then into the mix goes the head man (sovereign) of Jefferson Unit (the Black Swan’s US headquarters) Solomon Neuhm Nemaniah or “Sol” to the knights and friends, Sol has decided to retire but is still looking for his replacement; he has decided to take a romantic vacation (never had one before) with his fiancée Farnsworth. There is a very sad bit of tragedy in this installment as well as some kick ass fights, and so much action of all sorts it’s sometimes hard to put it down (not that I do of course – LOL). All in all Victoria Danann has created a wonderful place that I thoroughly enjoy visiting! Action packed is only the beginning; unique is an aside; thrilling is just a normal occurrence! You get the picture, now get the books! You certainly won’t regret a minute of it! Enjoy, I did!

Loose someone?
A storm is brewing in the Black Swan world. Maybe even two.Storms and Litha's daughter, Rosie, is growing up fact. Really fast. Apparently between both her parents having demon blood in their veins and Litha's being part witch, that made for some potent mixing of genes. Rosie is smart and beautiful and she has one the hearts of all. Even the Glenn loves babysitting her. Then all bets are off the day she becomes a grown women.Engle Storm is lost. I mean really lost. One moment he's with Deliverance riding the passages the next Storm has slip through his hands. Now Storm is lost in another dimension. Not to worry Deliverance will find him (or his daughter will kill him). Deliverance seeks out his mother (an angel) for help. One minute Angel Storm is about to be kill by thugs, the next he finds himself being handed over to a beautiful that is relieved to see him. His life was spared and he is now in the arms of a beautiful woman. The day is looking up for Angel.Storm needs to get to his home dimension before Rosie grows up without him.Glenn is being groomed (and it's not because he's one quarter werewolf) to become the next Sovereign of Jefferson Unit. Solomon has is retiring and decided now is the time to go a extended vacation with Fansworth. So Glenn has to run the unit while he's gone. Everything should run smoothly with help of B Team.Z team has a rep. And it's not good. Their the anarchists of the well ordered and disciplined world of the Knights, but they don't care. They're badass, emphasis on ASS. There is cost to be paid for being the lone wolf team.Elora's life is on the line when plot to assassinate her comes to fruition. Everyone rallies to protect and her son, Helm. Including her students, but without Solomon to lead things don't look to good for the unit. This is another winner. It's fast paced and funny.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
OMG! Best book yet! Storm Lost?!? Jefferson under attack?!? I laughed and I cried... Oh how I cried.Sol and Farnsworth go on vacation. Glen is put in charge with Storm as Glen's back up. One day while Deliverance is bringing Storm to Jefferson he loses Storm. Litha is devastated.. They start a manhunt looking for him and Deliverance thinks he finds him but brings back a look a like. Angel... Meanwhile. Deliverance was closer than he knew.. Storm was in Angel's dimension.Rosie is growing years every couple of days or so. And it devastates Litha to know that Storm is not there to see it. Rosie has put a claim on Glen. One day when Glen tells Rosie that he has a date Rosie flips. Then the next time Glen see's her she is his age.Angel is dreading when Storm is found. He feels worthwhile now and actually likes his life. He has no desire to go back to what his life was. When Jefferson comes under attack Angel along with the trainees really show their worth and the Z team. Well they are another story. They have a very humorous run in with the resident Vampires during the attack. Then there is Sol. Tears shed. Enough said. You have got to read this book!!! But these books have to be read in order or you will be lost as each one starts off where the last one leaves ends!!

Amazing
Firstly, I like to congratulate Victoria on managing to write yet another wonderful book in this series. Often, by the time you get to third or fourth book in a series, the plot gets a bit tired and you just want to skip to how it ends. However, this 5th book is as fresh and brilliant as the previous 4. I so did not want it to end. Every character is real to me, I can see them smile, interact with each other and they feel like friends. When I started reading it, it felt like coming home. There is a lot going on in this 5th installment of an ongoing story.THE NEWSLETTER: Z Team, a.k.a Zed Company, is transferred to Jefferson Unit, which is being temporarily retired as an active hunter facility and converted to a research / training institution. Sol takes his first vacation – ever – leaving Glen in charge with Storm supervising. Rosie is proving to be an extraordinary little girl and Deliverance is in BIG trouble with her mother.THE SURPRISES: Storm is really not himself. Former members of B Team must reunite to preserve his image and reputation. No one could have prepared for the surprises Rosie delivers.THE ADVENTURE: The Ralengclan send a second wave assassination team to Jefferson Unit at the worst possible time, when it’s been left defended by only Z Team, Glen, the Lady Laiken, Sir Fennimore, and the trainees. This book left me feeling emotional, always sign of a good one, in so many ways. I laughed, a lot and cried some, became anxious and then relieved. So, so glad that I know another is in the pipeline and can't wait to visit with my friends some more in the future.

I did find once I got going and got into the book it helped explain a few parts mentioned in previous books and it sets everything up nicely for the next book
I have to be honest I found this book a little hard going but it is a must for the series. I did find once I got going and got into the book it helped explain a few parts mentioned in previous books and it sets everything up nicely for the next book. If like me you find it hard going I do recommend you stick with it.

Another Great Read!
What can I say, Victoria Dannan is one of my favourite authors and with this 5th book she hit the mark again! I cannot put her books down once I start to read them and this one was no different. The characters are so good, the plot lines are believable the books just come alive. If you haven't read the Black Swan series what are you waiting for??!!??

Never disappoints
I have loved every book in the series. You really feel like you know the characters, I have laughed and cried with them throughout every story and it is hard not to because of the way Victoria Danann writes. If I have to put a negative it would be that I wish the stories could be a little longer, I get so into them that I have read them all in a day or two!! Can't wait for the next instalment . Whatever will B team get up to next?

easy read and you get a bit hooked onto the characters and want to find out what eventually happens to them, hence why I have read all in series, Im on my last one know and to be honest am finding it difficult to actually get into it but will persist.

great read
Possibly my favourite book of the series yet, if you enjoyed the others you will love this one. Less focus on a particular romance - more of an urban fiction maybe. Really moving, had me laughing and crying. Make sure you read the others first to get the most out of this book/have a clue what is going on!

An enjoyable series
It gives background so can be read as stand alone, but much better as part of the series. Characters are well enough drawn to allow the reader to become "friends" with them.

Disappointing.
Too many new characters, not enough storyline. Little or nothing seems to happen, while there is lots of toing and froing but no progress. Definitely the weakest book in the series.

Sehr Gut!
