Both bugs work well. My kitten is a bit afraid of them but my older cats followed them everywhere. I was impressed by the fact they keep moving when they fall over while another one I bought from a pet store just stopped and made awful sounds. One of these broke after about a month of me leaving it on and walking away but the other is still going strong.

My cat has other brands of bug toys that are battery operated like these, and she loves them. They do get lost under stoves and behind washing machines, so I wanted to have a few on hand. But these were a waste of money. I bought them because the description says they flip themselves upright after turning over. They don't. Ever. When the batteries died, I found the battery compartments extremely difficult to open and close, unlike the other brands of bugs I have. And when I put in fresh batteries, the bugs wouldn't work. They came from China and I waited two months for delivery. They worked as long as one battery charge and now they are junk. Just plain disappointing.

She loves to play with the red one, especially!

I've returned mine. these are smaller than the ones in pet supply stores and the on/off lever was broken on one upon arrival. they other didn't survive one play session (maybe 7 minutes???) without draining the battery. such a simply concept, too bad it's junk.

within minutes, I heard crunching on plastic - went to check on her & she had the whole thing destroyed & the battery out. scary moment in our house - I threw both away. if I could give zero stars, I would. :(

What I dislike is the battery compartment. The button batteries die within minutes of being replaced. I guess I can handle that fact, since the batteries are super cheap. The problem is that you have to dig the battery out because there is no tab or string to pop it out with ease and the connections slowly move to the point that it no longer touches the battery. This forces you to bend the prongs and wedge pieces of tape, paper or foil in to make sure the battery makes connection. Also, within a day or 2 of operation one of the 2 bugs stopped working all together. I contacted the seller and they offered a refund for the difference, which was nice, but the product is a little inferior in my opinion

I actually looked for these type of toys for my cats. I had two previously that I'd picked up somewhere (I think PetSmart) but the kitten totally destroyed as they had two parts. These are actually really perfect. They are one piece, super cuter, and move on their own once turned on.These bugs really keep the attention of our kitten, who is very active. He'll play with them for hours on end. If we aren't watchful, he'll shove them into the coat closet, where they will keep running. So, to save battery life we get them and turn them off.The only thing about toys of this type is that they flip easily on to their sides and if they are near anything will vibrate fairly loudly. Otherwise, they are great toys to keep your cats entertained. They batteries are replaceable, but you need to get a tiny screw driver (like from an eyeglass accessory kit) and LR 44 batteries (which are rather expensive).Otherwise, if you have a cat that likes to hunt bugs, these are perfect.
