Incredible utility, switches between 2, 3, and 5 lights on at a time. Easy assembly, and note it does not come with light bulbs. It fits any standard base light bulb, and you wont need more than 40 watts since there are 5 of them. If you build it and it feels flimsy, you need to tighten each of the pole pieces more. Sturdy enough that it sits on thick carpets (as opposed to a flat ground floor) and doesn't fall over unless all the lights are stacked on one side and pushed in that direction. I use for a large bedroom and it lights it up very well.

Nice and sturdy base, with flexible heads and easy to turn on and off. This was exactly what I was looking for, for my mother-in-law. She has a habit of turning on every light in the house she comes by if it's a switch on the wall. This way I can turn this on for her and she stops wasting electricity. I can leave the lowest setting on at night so she can still get around and turn on all five lights during the evening to allow for maximum coverage of our living room without being overly bright.

We were looking for a bright room Floor lamp for a room and decided to purchase this product. Turned out to be a good decision. The floor lamp has four way switch which allows us to save energy and use as much light as needed. 1 turn switches on 2 of the 5 lights, 2 turn switches on 3 of 5 lights,3 turns switches on all 5 lights, 4th turn switches off all lights. If you have a wall switch associated with the floor lamp, the lamp will remember the last setting used. 40 W each for 5 shades is a LOT of light and we rarely need to use all the lights!The floor lamp was easy to assemble and instructions easy to follow. The base is sturdy and does its job. The product does NOT come with light bulbs which have to be purchased separately. We bought LED energy savings light bulbs to go with it.The five arms can be adjusted to light the area required. The floor lamp is made with metal and the shades are made of plastic.The item was shipped in a Home Depot packaging, so keep a watch on prices. For the price we paid, the lamp was worth it especially given the the choices out there. Wish it came in a silver color too! Happy with the purchase and would recommend it surely.

Overall, it's a very nice lamp. If you like this style in general, that is. I personally love it for its versatility.What I like:-black finish,-easily replaceable shades (they are held by some sort of large hard plastic nut).What could be better:-the black "cones" that hold the socket are plastic, not metal (now, THAT is ridiculous - the silver-finish analogue by Patriot is all-metal);-the cover on the base is also plastic;-the base is somewhat rickety, but plenty heavy to do the job.-it's a bit short (about 5' 6" from the floor to the top of the shade, positioned straight-up).I've put 5 colored 5-watt LED (25-watt equivalent) bulbs in it (blue, red, orange, yellow and green - in that order), put it in a single file, semi-circle shape, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. If you don't look close (and after the first 2 or 3 days you won't), those funky plastic shades will not be noticeable at all. I think that the goose necks might be plenty strong to hold a light glass shade, too. Because of the way the shades are put on, it is possible to find glass replacements to the plastic. (I might try it myself, some day).It is rated to up to 40 Watt for each socket, and I probably wouldn't even go that high. I'd avoid putting incandescent bulbs in it - it may result in melted shades. The best would be LED bulbs, they barely put out any heat, and are getting more and more affordable.

very cheaply made, but it is okay. it looks fine in my room, i just wish it was better quality.it is nice to also have the different bulbs go different directions, therfore lighting most areas of the room.

Serves its function most of the time. Sometimes when the dial is turned the light just flashed for a moment and the dial will need to be turned again and then the light will turn on on its next setting.

This was very easy to assemble and it works great! Twist the switch 1 time for 1 light to turn on twice for three lights, and three times for all 5 lights to light up. I did put in a little brighter bulbs then recommended but it's been holding up fine and no burn outs with my lights. It provides lots of lighting in the corner of my sons room and the top pieces are bendable allowing them to point in the direction you are wanting to light up. It provides more then plenty of light and seems very sturdy and a great buy especially for the price. I wouldn't hesitate purchasing again. Highly recommended.

Wanted to use this lamp. But unfortunately it came broken. The box was fine so I'm guessing it was the way it was packed. Submitted return/refund request
