Suspenseful
This is the first book I have read by this author. I was worried it was going to be too gory but it took you right to the line leaving the rest to imagination. I enjoyed it and will definitely read another in the series

Another great CSI Investigation
The CSI investigations is at the forefront in the latest in the Tracers series. This time its Delphi Center's forensic photographer, Maddie Callahan whose in the thick of things. After doing a side job of engagement photos Maddie is attacked and her camera stolen. It turns out she may have been a witness to something and not even realize it. It all revolves around a missing witness that was taken near where Maddie was taking the pictures. The FBI has been trying to bring down a criminal known as the Doctor but there case so far has always fallen apart. When a witness comes to them stating she has information that can bring the Doctor down they are excited but before they can get her into protective custody she is taken. FBI agent Brian Beckman and his partner Sam hopes that Maddie is able to give them some clue as to what happened in hopes they can find her alive. As usual all the neat things the Delphi Center can do in all forms of forensics made for interesting reading. That would be a cool job to have. Now for the romance part. Maddie was all over the board with her thoughts and emotions. She had closed herself off to any form of feelings after the death of her daughter 5 years before. This caused the end of her marriage and since then she has thrown herself into her work and nothing else matters. Brian was instantly attracted to her and was very gentle with her recognizing her frailty but she certainly didnt make it easy for him. There were many times I just wanted to yell at him to walk away from her but end the end we get to go on the healing journey with Maddie as she makes the decision to put the past behind and give love a chance.

Great read!
Loved this book. Read it in one day. Good thread and awesome ending. Brian and Maddie were great together, good polarity in their characters. Glad to see them together in the end.

Slow read!!
I usually can read a book in less than a day, this one however did not keep me from putting it down. It was good not one of the best in this series. It dragged, but thank God the love making parts were short, I always skip those anyways. I don't need details. I also felt the ending just didn't tie up some questions and lose ends. The character jolene needed finishing, didn't she do something illegal?? I'll see what other reviewers say.

Overall, this series is good...
While I have enjoyed the majority of LG's books that I have read, and particularly the Tracers series, this one...not so much. It was an easy enough read and had somewhat of an engaging plot but the characters had a tendency to grate on me. Maybe because it seems I've read a lot of books lately where the heroine is so strong and so independent, and so consumed by her career that she doesn't want a man upsetting the balance. Even though she's single, and even though he is not only gorgeous and perfect, but he sincerely cares about her. Hence, the many, many pages (ones I eventually began skimming through) of the poor guy all but crawling around on his knees, trying to convince her otherwise...while she repeatedly tells him that because she likes her life just the way it is (which she really doesn't...), there is no hope for them. Then, at the end, she has an epiphany and realizes she loves him. After she did, and I turned the page to begin the new chapter, the book was pretty much over. I felt like I missed something somewhere and even went back to see if I did but, no, it was pretty much over. And I do find it a bit unrealistic that some of these female characters are just so strong that they not only snub their noses at the fact that their life is in grave danger, but rebel against it. Not to mention that someone who is a mere crime scene photographer transforms herself into an ace detective who ends up chasing around bad guys and aiding in their apprehension. Like I said, it's not a bad read but maybe I read too many Nora Roberts books prior to this one...she does that all the time...

Great! This book is solid!
Lately I have grown so tired of reading fluffy books that are filled with so much turmoil and silliness that just makes me want to stop reading a few chapters in. Laura Griffin has never written a book that I felt that way about. I am always engaged from the beginning to the end. Her characters are solid people that I think anyone reading would like. I love the suspense, it's always well balanced and the characters are always so well rounded with a good amount of angst to work through. I really enjoyed Maddie and Brian's story. I was a little hesitant because of the whole age difference thing but that was worked out through the book too. I was rooting for them all the way and love how they developed as a couple as they solved the case. I very much enjoyed this book!

Compelling, realistic emotional ride
Compelling, realistic emotional ride. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Easy to follow storyline with several twists. Real life dialogue and a HEA.“Everyone tells you people grieve in different ways.”He nodded."Turns out, Mitch grieves with his penis.” She looked out the window again, because all these years later, she still felt the sting of embarrassment. “He had an affair. Several, actually. The one I found out about was a twenty-five-year-old nurse.”I may re-read this story and look forward to other works by this author.

Great story, great suspense
I don't know how, when, or why I started reading Laura's books but am so glad I did. Her work has such a realism to it--the suspense is strong, the characters are so well written that the reader wants to know them (or be them)...and the heroine is usually strong and smart in her own right which is fantastic.Exposed was a great story...the suspense will keep you reading long after the lights are out. Laura's characters always have a lot of inner strength that's accompanied with some sort of vulnerability that one can identify with.I won't dwell on the story because--well, it's just not nice to give away someone's work--read the book. You won't be disappointed.Nice, Laura! Keep them coming.

Nice easy read
Interesting enough plot, but not for those searching for something very intricate. A nice romantic read for the commute. Worth a try.

super
