I use this as a tablet-holder by my bed for a Surface Pro. On the positive side: the tablet-holding "grip" device is very effective and grippy at all angles. The arm is very sturdy and can probably hold quite a weight.However, there are a few flaws: The arm loosely slides over the center column - it is "fixed" by the weight of the device on the arm. This makes it both hard to move (arm is heavy) AND very easy to slip when the tablet is only slightly lifted. Not a good design for this purpose.The center column is not high enough. This allows for a small range of awkward viewing angles if mounted next to a bed.It needs a HEAVY table with a WIDE edge to affix to (not the typical nightstand), otherwise it will not be stable. It's an industrial strength piece of equipment (were it not for its flaws) I had to switch my nightstand for a coffee table.Lastly, I had to devise a shim from a piece of packing foam in order for the arm to be assembled with the tablet holder. The screws that come with it are too long, and do not allow for correct assembly of the arm joints.Maybe this is better as a desk device, but for my purpose it doesn't work well.

I got this for my boyfriend's birthday after he wished upon a swinging shelf that could hold his Macbook computer. After a long internet search, I discovered this contraption, which seems popular for medical offices and lazy couples. Setup was very easy, though we have two unused tablet holders and their associated hardware. The design is fairly sleek; our only complaint is the giant staff that the swinging arm attached to; it is about a foot tall and the adjustable arm fits on the very bottom 'rung', similar to the height of the model pictured with the couple in bed. We will likely saw the top part off so it is a little less intrusive. The computer has a very slight tilt once pulled out, so those hoping for a perfectly flat working surface will be disappointed. As we are using this mainly to watch or project movies, no big deal. Anyone looking to be typing for long stints might find it irritating. The Macbook charger fits fine with the clips and laptop holder, but the clips curve over the sides of the laptop, and it cannot be fully shut. They are not difficult to remove, but are considering just putting some foam grips on the sides to keep it from sliding. There are two small rubber grips on the rear plate laptop adapter, so it is generally pretty stable. Nice product, and cheaper than other varietals. We love it!

I love this mount. Very easy to install a phone or tablet. I haven't tried to mount a laptop yet. This is my second mount I've purchased and I love this one. The first one I bought from a different company wasn't as secure as this. My other mount was just for phones and tablets, but I guess since this is made to hold the weight of a laptop, it's stronger. I came back to the item and it said currently unavailable and I was upset. I wanted to order another one. It would be great if one could order an extra arm to the same pole to attach a phone and a tablet or phone and laptop.A con is the tablet holder blocks the port to charge it. I've tried the different sizes horizontally and vertically, but with a case on my tablet the best mount blocks the port.

wow this item is so confusing! I got it and it was in a million pieces. you see the relaxing people on bed there? this item is not like that. the instructions are not in English! do not buy it is confusing and shipping it back cost me $20 and then they onlyrefunded 60% of my money. you will regret buying it.

The sliding piece is extremely hard to move up and down.

We have ordered two of these over the last few weeks. Pleased with them. Mount easily and clamp holds them securely. We use for Tablets. We have one at a desk and one at a bedside table.
