K & S Precision Metals 500 Music Wire, 0.025" OD x 36" Long, 25 Pieces, Made in The USA

I never considered or even really conceived of how useful wire could be until I started doing projects in 3D printing. Really great and wide use of application. It is a very stiff write and hardened, use a good set of linemans pliers on it, high leverage journeyman' s pliers, Mine are made by Klein and they work really well.I cannot stress this enough, wear eye protection when working with this stuff. It can be sharp, and due to the hardened steel, the force top cut through it will launch little steel shrapnel into random directions. I do not mess around with flying metal and my eyes. Wear glasses.

Th diameter of the wire was exactly as indicated. K&S is the place to go.

Came VERY well packaged as 5 bundles of 4 wires each in a single sealed sleeve, packed in a plastic tube with other empty packaging around it within a large cardboard box meant to keep the wires from getting bent. Measured exactly 0.039" diameter x 36" long.

The wire is fine and works/bends/performs as advertised. BUT THERE IS NO Storage tube!

I am using this to make smaller tools with it. You get quite a bit for the price. A file skates on it, so it is hard. Appears to have been well annealed as it is not brittle. Careful grinding, so as not to draw the temper, makes it pretty easy to work with. Good quality stuff for my needs.

Years ago, the clock-like spiral spring (yellow arrow showing where it used to be) broke on our bird feeder. I tried various methods (rubber bands, etc.) to perform the same function, which is to close access to the food when weight is placed on the perch by squirrels, etc. I used this 0.02 diameter music wire to make an expansion spring. The construction method involved a method found on YouTube, where the wire is wound around a dowel inserted in a power drill. It has been a few weeks since I installed the spring, and it continues to work great. No loss of "springiness." The thinner wire worked where a thicker wire probably would have been too strong.

The media could not be loaded.  I ordered 25 pieces and only got 5 pieces the first time. I returned those and reordered. This time I got 3 pieces. WTF!!!

They are what I expected to receive.

I make springs out of it. It works, and it's made in the US which is great. At least it says so on the package.
