Nothing But The Truth

Antic Bob Hope/Paulette Goddard screwball comedy, plot is the basis for Jim Carey’s “Liar, Liar.” This was the third pairing of Hope & Goddard - not quite up to “The Cat and the Canary” or “Ghost Breakers” but still quite funny!

First of all, excellent commentary by Simon Abrams informative. Thoroughly enjoyable movie.

Stockbroker Hope mistakenly bets his coworkers that he can go the weekend without telling a lie. Problem is his buddies take on a cruise where he can't escape and do everything possible to force him to lie. The lovely Paulette Goddard plays the boss's daughter.

These two actor/comedians are a perfect match in every way. Goddard and Hope always give the screen some emotional feel to compliment their high altitude intellects. I own all three of those films and recommend their purchase.
