These are adjustable so you can choose how much sound to block. I love these for dancing in clubs or going to live shows. Most venues with music could care less about your hearing health. My Apple Watch measures the decibels and these help protect me and still enjoy the music or show.The best part about these is the adjustable nature so you have some choice about how much sound to block. ALSO they make it MUCH easier to hear conversation that you wouldn't normally be able to hear or have in the middle of a music space.

I should buy stock in this company. I swear by these for concerts. I keep some in the car and in multiple bags/back packs/purse. They live in their own clip on pouch. I gift them to all my friends. Filters noise, but sound quality is not compromised. I work and play in the music world. When I am not using in ear monitors on stage, I use these. The string attachment to go around your neck helps not lose them. I do suggest buying a color as one inevitable ends up on the floor (usually operator error, not because of a defect or quality issue). Much easier to spot a color on the floor. Large is too large for my small head, so standard size fits me best.

Perfect amount of attenuation to comfortably attend most concerts. Unless you are right in front of the mains, you should be comfortable. The biggest deal for me was flat-ish attenuation, so the mix was correct, just lower SPL. These deliver in that aspect extremely well. Used them at a Dream Theater concert, 4th row, amazing fidelity and hearing safe noise level. Siskel and Ebert give them two thumbs up.

These are my everyday carry hearing protection. Use these while traveling on trains, movie theatres and at all music venues. Beware that the case picture is incorrect. The lower cost pair does not include the key chain connected case.

Have used these for a few years for noise reduction on my scooter. Wind noise over 50 mph is uncomfortable and obviously bad for hearing over time. The fit is good and comfortable and I can still hear what I need to with them inserted. They do wear out with time, but I easily get a whole riding season or two. I usually manage to lose them before they wear out, however.

Mixed review- I love the earplugs and have purchased and recommended them in the past, but despite the photo of the squeeze pouch it came with a hard plastic pillbox case that I don’t like. This might seem like nitpicking but hear me out- The older version squeeze pouch is softer and fits into my pant pockets and can take abuse, the hard case is larger and bulky in my pocket and has no give when I sit down. When I look on the Etymotic website they have the older pouch for $11!!! Hey Etymotic contact me and let’s make a deal otherwise I have to go with my negative review, sorry.

I've been using these for decades. My latest order had a "new" case instead of the really nice clamshell that is shown in the photos. The new case is a snap-open box that wouldn't stay shut for 5 minutes on my job. Disappointed. What were they thinking?

I was traveling and forgot to take my earplugs, so I bought another pair to keep in my luggage. They are so effective against loud sounds, including music. I already have hearing problems and excessively loud music is painful and a little scary as I can't hear as well as normal for a day or so afterward. These were recommended to me by a musician friend who played standing in front of enormous speakers onstage. He said they saved his hearing, and I believe it! Highly recommend! Great price, too!
