Not as good as I'd hoped.
I bought this because our new dog just will not stop peeing in the house and I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any spots. I'm not sure it's the greatest at detecting pee, honestly, but it does sort of work. It doesn't show anything wet, which is normal for these devices. It also has to be pretty dark in the room to use it.When pointing it directly at a dry spot where I KNOW he's peed, I do get a faint glow. So I'm really not sure if the product doesn't work very well, or if I'm expecting too much from the device.

Unsure how to use still- found spots?
I'm not sure how to use this yet, I was able to spot areas I knew had a mess on the rug (throw-up) but I'm still trying to find urine spots on rugs which is hard if they were halfway cleaned as the spot doesn't show up as bright in pitch black room as needed. Yes, I had to do during night time will zero lights to use this light, and taped areas I thought might have spots. I taped spots all over the whole room, no big apparent urine spots though?

Pee spots
We recently adopted a dog and our cats were not very happy. Plus one of our cats developed a bladder issue. Needless to say, they were peeing inside the house. I wanted an easier way to spot their markings rather than going around sniffing spots on the floor. This little black light came in handy and helped me find spots that were in out of the way areas. Plus it is very compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space in my drawer o' randomness.

Great for scorpion hunting
In our area we get occasional scorpions in our house and in our yard. It doesn't feel too good when you get stung by one, either. So, in place of having a black light on an extension cord, this flashlight, for the price, looked like it was worth a try. Let me tell you, this thing made it very easy to see the scorpions. I was able to kill 4 scorpions last night in the yard. Follow up 6/10: from the time of my original review, I have killed dozens of scorpions in our yard as a result of being able to find them with this light.. A couple of them had dozens of babies on her back. I never knew there were so many out there. I've gone through the house with this light a few times with no scorpions to be found. My evil plan is working.

If you want to see how gross things really are, then purchase this light!
When I ordered this, I thought the quality might be equivalent to a kid's flashlight that you purchase in the toy department. Nope! It reminds me of a mini mag-lite flashlight I once owned. It has a good weight to it. I had the blinds open when I first turned it on, and could still see the spots on the carpet. Then I took it in the bathroom... I've got a teenage son and well, let's just leave it at that. I was mortified! Must Clean Bathroom!!After applying vinegar/water solution to spots on the carpet, I was able to go back and see which stains needed a little more work to get them out, and which stains were fading. I like how you can replace the batteries when they fizzle out. It's not a one-time-use light and then toss. It takes 3 AAA batteries that are housed in a handy unit inside so you don't have to fumble with loose batteries.

This is just terrific. Had an oil leak...Firestone charges 50 bucks to put a UV dye in the car's crankcase, and then UV check for leaks.Find out at Advance Auto parts the dye is 7 bucks, and the UV flashlight is 17. The rest is use of a hydraulic lift and expertise, I guess. But bought this lil beauty for a nice low price, and can in future do the checks myself.Plus follow the cats around whenever there's suspicion. Why must we be priced out of a better tomorrow? We shouldn't with the "Best LED Ultraviolet" flashlight...and Halloween's coming up.

Shows spots well, just a bit hard to differentiate between cleaned spot and new spot.
Product works very well. Light is bright, and I can see what it shows even when it's not too dark. Cat pee and vomit show up as a pale green. However, I can also see where I've cleaned other spots, which seem to show up as a pale blue if cleaned with my spot steam cleaner PetBot, and white-ish if cleaned with an enzyme cleaner. So it's a bit hard to differentiate between the old spots and the new spots.
