When my bathroom light switch gave me a disco light show before fusing itself into the ON position even with the switch set to OFF, I knew I had to change it.I ordered the Inveco Narrow light switch as a replacement and was happy to receive it next day. I wired it up, tested it, then used to screws provided to mount it onto the metal box that houses the mains wires for the lights.All was fine until the next morning when I switched the lights off. There was a red flash inside the switch at the Live/Positive wire connection, then the light circuit trip switch went on the mains box, followed a minute later by the RCD circuit switch.Fearing there was a more serious electrical fault than I had realised, I called out the electrician who originally wired up my flat. When he removed the switch, there was a burn mark on the lower right side of the metal box and wall where the Live/Positive wire connects. The design of this switch is of poor quality, even with the screw tightened down to hold the wire in place, it is too close to the metal box that houses the wires. It created a short and blew the fuse because of it.The electrician bought a replacement switch where the wire connections are on top and bottom of the switch mechanism, not on the side. All has been well since. The replacement switch, which is MK, only cost £5.

Good, straight replacement for a switch in a very restricted space. Screwed straight into the existing back box. Don't forget to turn the power off!! :/

There's nothing wrong with this switch, but I bought this one to use with an MK brand surface mount back box that I already had and found that the fixing screw holes are on different centres, so it wouldn't fit.If you buy this switch, get the back box from the same manufacturer to ensure compatibility.

Fits ok but beware the casing is fragile. Be careful when screwing on plate as cracks easily.
