Vincent Paints His House

i wanted a vincent van gogh book for my 2 year old grandson that would introduce him to vincent in a slanted way. no art lectures, just an appreciation for vincent, an awareness of a world called "art". after reading reviews of numerous toddler vincent books, this is the one i chose. and i'm happy with my choice. the pages are luxurious with colors, the paper quality is great. the story is perfect for a toddler as the repetition is delightful as each new color is introduced in the same way, but with different animals. the animals and colors allow for a variety of interactions each time you read the story out loud. and in the end we "meet" "vincent". beautifully done.

We LOVE this book. My twins have memorized it due to the simplicity and repetition of the pictures and words. The colors and animals are great for young minds. It’s such a sweet story with a happy ending. The artwork is incredible and so fun to look at. I absolutely recommend this book.

It is a cute book. With lots of color's name in the pictures, it is a interesting and information picture book.

I use this book with my class of four year olds each year when I do a unit on colors. The children enjoy the story, talk about the colors and which animal liked each color, then they paint a large poster with a house shape on it. This is a good book for colors, rhymes, introduction to artists, and the illustrations are very appealing to children.

My son's name is Vincent so I was thrilled to find a book with his name in it. This is a very repetitive book, so as a teacher, I am very excited that he may be able to learn to read a book with his name in it as one of his first independent books. It has a cute story and also showcases different shades of common colors.

My kids LOVE this book! They get a kick out of every page. I love that it’s a fun way to introduce Vincent Van Gogh to them! I’ve bought a few of these books - for me and then friends- and will probably purchase more in the future! Highly recommend!

This book is a favourite at home. Has a good rhythm to the pages. Vincent attempts to paint his house when the animals who live nearby give him their thoughts on what colour he should paint the house. Lots of colour related word vocabulary and beautiful pictures. The kids like seeing the animals and the colours they choose. Recommended.
